I'm sorry but I can't remember what the name has changed to, but obviously the location is the same. The hotel is in a beautiful colonial building with high ceilings. The staff are really genuine. The porter would not even accept a tip for lugging my very heavy suitcase up a big flight of stairs. The location is very convenient - close to the main road and across the street from the supermarket. The building has a lift/elevator but reception is one floor above ground level and has a very steep flight of stairs without hand rails - not great if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues. the other downside is the lack of heating. Some hotels in Vietnam have air conditioners that double as heaters - not here. Haiphong is fairly chilly in January and coupled with the high ceilings my room was freezing. If there was heating I would have rated the hotell as a 4 due to its refurbishmment, location and staff.

Arranged pickup from airport and even though plane was 2 hrs late they were waiting for us. Our deluxe twin share room was actually 2 rooms with kitchen. The staff were just the nicest people on both day and night shift, making sure our stay was enjoyable. Breakfast was o.k , eggs and baguette. Located centrally in haiphong city and very close to Maxims restaurant .
