“Wonderful hotel in a great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2009

This is new hotel, 1 block from the boat launch. The rooms are cozy and well appointed. View of the river are beautiful. Nice bathroom, very clean and comfortable. We were on a one night stay during our Mekong Delta tour with Jason (wonderful guide). The hotel lived up to Jason's praises. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Kim Tho Hotel is awesome. Its great value, close to the Mekong River and with rooms available looking over it. Its within walking distance to the statue of Ho Chi Minh, and also walking distance to the Can Tho Museum. Its close to restaurants such as Nam Bo and Mekong, as well as floating restaurants and tour boat operators for the Mekong.

The rooms are spotless, the facilities are new, the staff are excellent. The doorman excells, and the staff are the best we've found yet that understand English.

The downfalls we would say are - the breakfast menu. That said, after 3 resorts we havent found a good one yet. And we would prefer to have a safe in our room. They do have lockable cupboards, but a safe these days is better peace of mind. This is an area they definitely have to get on top of. Tourists are very protective of their belongings in new and unfamiliar places.

Give it a shot. It has good value and is worth its number 1 rating on Trip Advisor.

We stayed here as part of a private three day Mekong Delta tour. The hotel was a wonderful surprise and we would definitely like to stay there again. We had a room on a high floor (which we requested) with a great view over the park and the river and could see the cruise ship come in, (and epecially at night this was beautiful) and other activities and you can see the Friendship bridge that the Ozzies built. The staff were very attentive, kind and courteous and genuinely pleased to have foreign guests staying with them. The whole hotel was very comfortable and the rooms were light , clean and very well equipped and we just loved the wonderful views. Comfy bed and great bathroom - however no where to put your soaps and shampoos - only on the shower floor! We did put that suggestion into our feedback for them. Breakfast was included and was very good and again service excellent and personal. The restaurant lacked atmosphere and outlook as far as we were concerned, although it was spacious and clean. However we discovered their rooftop cafe/bar which had amazing views and a lovely, romantic and congenial atmosphere - it had only just been opened and we did not consume anything, but gather it is only hot and cold drinks and ice creams. If they developed it into a restaurant they would have a winner there we believe! So if you go there, go up for great day and especially night views and try and time it for when the evening cruise ship returns - all lit up! There are numerous good eating options around. We really liked the small city of Can Tho - it really suprised us! It had a lovely relaxed holiday feel about it and our regret was that we did not stay for a few days there, so if we return to that area we will put it at the top of our list! Chau Doc we found disappointing as a town although we would highly recommend a trip up to Sam Mountain to experience the sun setting over Cambodia! We can say that the Kimtho Hotel was great value, very clean and comfortable and can highly recommend with confidence and, as said, we would stay there again without any hesitation!

My wife and I stayed at Kim Tho Hotel for 10 days over the period of late Janurary/early February. It is located right on the river front and is only a couple of minutes walk from the hub of Can Tho nightlife and both the floating and night markets. The rooms are spacious by Vietnamese standards, immaculately clean and well furnished. The service provided by the staff during our stay was faultless. Most staff speak a little English, so if your Viet is not good it does not really matter. Breakfast is excellent with fruits, noodles, breads, warm dishes and most drinks imaginable provided. The bar upstairs is a nice place to escape the heat in the early afternoon, with food and drinks served for most of the day up until midnight. If the dwellings and service are maintained to a high standard , Kim Tho will probably remain Can Tho's best value hotel for years to come.

We booked the Kimtho hotel because thr reviews were so good on Trip Advisor and it definitely lived up to expectations. It's right in the heart of the town on the bustling river front. We had a fantastic view of the town and the river from our room which was chic, simple and clean (we went for a superior 1 which was just right). The front desk service was excellent, the usual Vietnamese friendliness and helpfulness, they sorted out a private car to take us up to HCMC, which again, was perfect for a good price. There is bar on the top floor with lots of potential, great views of the city and v. cool neon, but they were still finishing it when we were there in mid Jan.
