“Good for a stopover”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

Having been on tour of the Mekong this was our last stop before we headed to Phu Quoc Island. Stayed here overnight, the room was spacious and clean and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The wifi was terrible, had to go into the lobby for reception and the breakfast was ok.

This was the hotel chosen by our tour as our overnight stay at the end of the Mekong Delta tour.
I never got to see any of the other rooms but ours was great! Two huge double beds, lots of space and the best shower I had in Vietnam. Boiling hot, very clean, very powerful. Just what you need after an entire day on a boat.

The location is good, close to the river, easy waslking distance to shops and a really nice waterfront restaurant of which I can't remember the name. We only had an evening here so didn't go too far.

The reception is small, but efficient. The breakfast wasn't all that great from what I remember.

It's good for what it is, but it's not outstanding!

We stayed one night at the Kimtho Hotel in Can Tho. Our room had big windows with view at the river, it was clean and of a comfortable size. The hotel is very close to the harbour (only 3-5 minutes walking distance) where you can hire a boat to visit the floating market. Breakfast buffet was a choice of western and vietnamese food. There is also a bar at the rooftop and a Spa - but we didn't test neither of them. Generally it is not a luxury place or especially charming in a certain way, but good value for money and a good base for exploring the river.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with river view.

My husband and I spent a night here during our Mekong delta tour. Our room was very spacious and clean. Check-in was quick. We experienced a blackout in our room but a call to the front desk had a technician in our room almost immediately to attend to the problem. There was a good spread for breakfast though the restaurant was a little crowded.

Stayed at Kim Tho in Dec 2012 for 2 nights. The location of the hotel is very good close to the water front. Good for nice walks close by in the night. The hotel property looks clean and neat. The room is average sized with decent furniture. The toilet was clean. However there was clogging of water in the shower cabinet and overflowed in the entire bathroom. The room I stayed in had no view.. since the only window in the room opened against a wall of the adjoining building. I had dinner on one night on the rooftop restaurant. However the food was very average quality and there were hardly any other people eating out there.
The breakfast was average with limited choice. The staff was helpful. Booked a river and canal tour through the front desk and was pretty happy with it.
Overall i would say that considering the price I paid, i was not disappointed.

Room Tip: Maybe one can ask for room with a view!

Kimtho was an OK hotel. I mean for the price point what are you expecting? I don't have any other hotels to compare it to but based on the area and where you are (Can Tho), I wasn't expecting some 5 star experience, especially for what the price was per night. If you're expecting Four Seasons, you're going to be disappointed. It's a clean hotel that gives you a hot shower and a clean room/bed to sleep in. Located well and near decent restaurants, I couldn't ask for more. We stayed for 1 night and Kimtho did the job. If you're planning on staying multiple nights, then I would suggest trying some "higher" priced hotels. Lets hope it gives you what you're looking for. Overall, I would recommend for those looking for a clean yet simple place to park for a night or two.

We stayed here with our two teenage sons in a superior double and twin room. We were greeted with a cool passionfruit juice on arrival. Our room had a nice view of the river and both rooms were modern and clean. They have a rooftop bar with great views over the city and river. We headed up there after dinner and it had a great atmosphere watching the night lights. There is a great restaurant across the road called Hop Pho. See separate review. We enjoyed a basic, but tasty breakfast the next morning.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a view of the river
