We stayed in this delightful hotel for 15 nights - we were on a motorcycle trip to Mongolia and had an enforced stop in Bukhara whilst waiting for spare parts for one of the bikes.
So, this is a relatively new hotel located up a little side street between the Oybinek Mosque and Ibrahim Okhund Madrassah at grid reference N39.7739, E64.4228 (N39° 46’ 26”, E64° 25’ 22”). The lobby is attractive, and the rooms well appointed with TV (including satellite), fridge and a/c (which works!). The bathrooms (shower over the bath) receive a special star as they are all well presented, clean and with constant hot water at a decent pressure. Oh, and not to forget the free wi-fi.
The internal courtyard is pleasant enough to sit in, and shaded when the sun is blazing. Drinks (non-alcoholic) are available from the lobby.
Breakfast is served buffet-style in a delightfully cool subterranean (but well-lit) dining room. The choice is not huge, but it is well prepared and the salads can be trusted. There are many restaurants suitable for lunch and dinner nearby.
The hotel will also do your laundry and arrange trips. You are right in the historic centre of the town, and all the sights are within easy walking distance. The cost was $55 a night by the way, including breakfast.
And finally, and probably most importantly, the staff are kind and welcoming. Their English may not be perfect, but don’t let that put you off what I think must be the BEST hotel you could wish for in Bukhara, and one of the MOST WELCOMING anywhere.
