Very good spot. The hotel is located within the walls of the old fortress, and 5 minutes from the medina. Most of the hotel is a modern building, (except a nice cafe/bar said to be in the former prison!). The rooms are nice, ours had a view on the pool/patio, and was very quiet (no shouts from the mosque as indeed reported in some guidebooks).
Breakfast was decent, lots of things though nothing very tasty or typical. We had diner elsewhere, but I guess the restaurant is similar.
All in all, not a bargain, but worth the value.
A nice relaxing place in Kairouan, where as a Western tourist we were horribly harrassed by 100,000 arrogant people convinced we HAD to buy carpets (the local specialty). Our worst souvenir of Tunisia as for people behavior!
