“Perfect place to stay when visiting Sangkhlaburi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

We had a room in the central building which was clean. Beds are not as hard as we are used to in Thailand. Breakfast is almost Asian, but they have some whole wheat bread too. The pool is nice and the views are really beautiful. To be recommended! The restaurant services good food!

That's a very good food, good view compare with the room cost it's worth to stay there.

Relax place especially in the day time (dinner time look a bit noisy). Do not go to this place during the long weekend because a lot of Traveller, Biker who has less respective to others (sorry for the good traveller, good biker but this was the experience of mine)

Room Tip: Choose the room that closed to the swimming pool

This resort is very near Mon bridge. We can walk to there in 1 minute from resort and can see Mon bridge and river view from the room terrace. Good friendly staff and they have the one day trips for service us (Some package should to book before arrival)

The price of the room start from 400 Bath/person (Old room) to 1000 Baht/person (new room at swimming & fitness zone) I stay in the old room for 1 night(3 beds room). everything Okey except the restroom. Resort should to clean up more. But the new rooms are okey.

By the way I like here very much.

Great views over the lake from the balcony of our room in the 'boutique hotel' attached for 900baht, inc (a fairly average) breakfast, clean room, good shower, use of the infinity pool, a really relaxing, comfortable, beautiful stay. Bit of a walk in to a one horse town, which we only did as we'd had lunch in the hotel so thought we ought to try somewhere else - mistake, there was only one restaurant we found, and very average, should have stayed where we were.
Same thin hard mattress as at the Burmese Inn, but I find this quite comfortable! Had a good nights sleep

Room Tip: upstairs at the attached 'boutique' zone, good value and wonderful view

We have spent 3 night in the hotel. we got the "honey moon Villa". (They have serveral such Villas). It has outstanding view to the lake and the Mon Bridge. this is really the biggest (and almost only) plus of this hotel.
They managed to get the "best place in the area", overlooking the amazing lake, with the fishermen's houses and the boats, as well as the bridge. There's no where else in this area where you will be able to see this view.
As for the Hotel itself: from the entrace floor (the Lobby) you need to go down 4-5 floors each time in order to get to your room (the VIlla), there is no elevator of course and part of the route in outside so when it rains its not ideal.
There is no way to communicate to the Lobby orhter than going there each time (4-5 floors) and asking for something....
Breaksfast is pathetic, very dull and not served in an apealing way, also the place for breakfast is quite poor.
The room itself (The VIlla) is ok, the bathroom is quite poor as well.
The people working in the hotel, the ones that welcome you, serve you, etc... is a bunch of few girls, nice girls that are srong to carry your laguage 4-5 floors with no problem. however, their english is quite broken and all in all you feel "desrted" in this hotel.
I will just summarize and say: it worth while going there since sitting in the balcony is a real pleasure.

Room Tip: Take the Villas with hte view the Lake. what they called: Honey moon villa.

The essence of Sanglaburi is its views. This resort affords you the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of this wonderful place, Located on a hill directly above the beautiful Mon bridge, and a two minute walk to the bridge itself. This is a Thai style resort. We had a comfortable. room in the Country house, one of the lower cost accommodation options. This log cabin house has a large balcony directly overlooking the scenic bay and Mon bridge. Very clean, accommodates 3 people, and everything worked fine. The views from the veranda were breathtaking.

Additionaly the restaurant is has very good Thai food . My Thai wife is extremely discriminating and she found the food to be excellent, the sunset view is mesmerizing. Try the "stir fried fern: dish, their specialty and very delicious. We brought our own bottle of wine, there was no corkage fee, and glasses were happily supplied. Not a lot of English spoken here, but the menu has English.

This is a mid priced resort, but if you want to really enjoy Sanglaburi, splurge and enjoy this resort. There is also s swimming pool, and a Thai or American breakfast included.

Room Tip: Ask for the upstairs corner room in the Country house facing the bridge.

We had a boutique room (like guest house). From this room you cannot see the Mon bridge from this room and the view is not much nice but it was enough for us and cheap. However, there are other types of room, so you can select any rooms suit with your style. Service is not much but still good. The room is clean and size is fit for two persons including basic facilities should have. The breakfast is just porridge but it is very suit with surrounding and also can refill until you feel full. The restaurant have good cuisines, so it might be the best one as I had around there. The location is very near the Mon Bridge, so you can walk to reach there and this is why I like here.

Room Tip: Boutique Room just for sleeping only but near the bridge
