“We love Aleenta”

Aleenta Resort & Spa Phuket Phangnga

Jun 5, 2008

We spent 5 days at Aleenta. Everything about it was superb. Great service, great food, great beach. It is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. It's a great ending to 1 month long honeymoon and I would definitely recommend to friends.

“not worth for staying here”

Aleenta Resort & Spa Phuket Phangnga

In general, the resort provide just good envoirnment and services to those who do not expect 'top' .

1) we book for 'Pool villa', but not the same as website describe, photos are new but actual envoriment is old and dark. the living room and bed room is divided by outdoor corridor which is without any cover, thus when there is a rain, you have to take an umberlla ' within our house ' in-between living room and bed room, very funny, unfortunatelly it has always rains during a day in May. the i-pod is out of order. the resort provide bath salt which is a good idea, but it is useless as the hot water tube of the bath is out of order. the said things are not affectable to us as the most terrible thing is that the water of the swimming pool is so dirty that you can not see the bottom of the pool which is like the jungle water in the forest. and you can see the oily and brown-coloured sunstance over the surface of the water. we ask to check but they said that the engine had some problems. please note that the pool villa is 'not near the beach' which is not expected by us, it is surronded by four walls. this is what our first insight when entering the house. and it just waste of the whole day time.

2) next day, we complain to the front desk, we seldomly change our room but we have no choice. the 'process' is bit of annoyance and we finally downgrade to 'pool suite'. Luckily the pool suite is good and cheaper as the villa is facing the beach. you can see the staring night at night, it is very good for honey mooner. each day you can feel incoming winds and singing birds all around you. this is the most valuable thing in this resort.

3) 'People', actually you can not expect 'very good' service for all type of the services because I always hear 'No' when I am asking something special that it is not in their 'staff book', but the housekeeping are doing very good job which is more than expected, tidy, clean, equipped, 'with heart'.

4) 'Food', the food is just O.K. but not worth for money, the size is small.and my wife is a vetgetaian, ask the chef made her a veget burger, they just took away the beef, left the onion, tomato inside, that was the worst veget burger I ate before. and we traveled so many places and this is the worst resort.

5) To conclude, spending USD440 per day for pool villa is totally not worth.

“Never ever again..... It's a joke”

Aleenta Resort & Spa Phuket Phangnga

This has to be the worst hotel I've been to in years in this price range.

Stayed in Pool Suite room number 102 for 3 nights. Relax package

Pros:
- Candle lit dinner was really well arranged
- Nice sea view if you look forward
- Friendly staff but this is not a real pro because most Thai staff in hotels are super friendly.
- OK spa massage. Experienced much massagess in Twin Palms or Banyan Tree)

Cons:
- English language of staff is really limited in most cases.
- Pool Suite is much smaller than you can imagine (pictures on the Internet hotel's site are very miseading)
- The private pool is as big as a stamp
- The suite contains a guestbook. You can see that the management removed pages of the guestbook (probably those with bad reviews)
- Everything is way overpriced (rooms, food, drinks) and their food is not really good. Also the dishes they serve are really small. You have to order almost everything twice...
- Staff sometimes laughs at you in their own language. Really rude.
- When you take the local taxi in front of the hotel (whose prices are of course less than the hotel's taxi) the staff looks at you as if you were the biggest criminal on earth.
- Tried to take a romantic walk on the beach. Their beach property is like 30 metres wide. Left and right of it is like a dumpster, You walk between plastic, bottles, garbage in general).
- Housekeeping comes at really irregular hours
- The room is filled with antz (hundred), no kidding. They enter through the outside shower that is connected to the room which contains a long vertical gap.
- Airconditioning makes really much noise. I complained about this and this is normal according to them. In all other hotels I went this was never the case
- Nothing to do in the surrounding area.

All in all we're really glad we left this hotel. It was part of our honeymoon. We went to 3 different hotels, Aleenta as last one because we thaught it would be top notch. The first 2 ones were Banyan Tree in Bangkok and Twin Palms in Phuket (Surin Beach).

Trust me. If you're looking for a good place go to Twin Palms. It's way better (modern big rooms, half the price).

Never ever again Aleenta. We're really dissapointed. I also can't understand how this gets number 2 in the hotel rankings in this area. I presume it's from people that didn't do different hotels like we did.

“Our little slice of paradise.”

Aleenta Resort & Spa Phuket Phangnga

Mar 20, 2008

I was there for 4 nights over chinese new year and LOVED it!!

My husband booked this for us -special anniversary-nuff said. We absolutely loved it and here's why in order of importance.

1. Pristine, White Beach & absolute privacy.
my husband found the hotel and checked out their website and basically he booked it on the spot based on the pics! and we were not disappointed. Its white sands, softest beach without people asking you every minute " massage, braid, manicure, pedicure?" if you've been to other beaches in thailand, you'll know
The sunset was my fav time of the day from 5-7 I would sit there and just stare, i didnt have to do anything.

I know some people find that dull and those people will not enjoy aleenta, they want party, party- thats patong for them.

2. Loft - stunning views, huge apt
We had taken a honeymoon package where we got a Loft -wall to floor windows, our own plunge pool on the highest level so we could sunbathe by the deck in total privacy! It was split levels with the master bedroom & the plunge pool on the 2nd floor and living room, massage room(YES our own massage room so the therapists came to us!) on the 1st floor.

3. Food- ironically the french/italian food was actually better than the thai. We had a degustation menu which ended with a desert tray where u could pick anything you want- as often as you liked!!! Like a buffet but brought to you!!! I had the desert tray 3 nights whilst there!!!!!

4. Activities - there were free daily activities twice a day. i tried thai kickboxing and beach power walking which was fantastic!!

5. Service - little touches which I LOVED, little nibbles every day and also scented oil lamps at night -the room smelt amazing.

Not so good :

1. English - yes in thailand this is par for course but it was definitely challenging. some staff i had to repeat three times and play 'charades to be understood. But honestly I would rather staff who try their hardest and are so sincere than city slicker types who give me attitude (hello, ny, london, sydney, hong kong)

Location this is debatable.
We had been to patong numerous times before and didnt go this trip. Some people might find it far but the hotel did offer a shuttle bus service for 350baht/ 11usd to patong which. I frankly had no problems with location as you'll never get a beach like this in crowded places with rows of shopping, restaurants etc...

summary spectacular beach, beautiful rooms, peace & quiet. Aleenta is perfect if you're like us- a couple who just really wanted to unwind, chill, do almost nothing :) and enjoy the quietness and privacy of a lovely resort.

“Style over substance”

Aleenta is a beautiful chic resort with a gorgeous beach... but service standards were average at best. Very disppointing for a hotel of this class / standard.

It was our honeymoon and nothing special was done for us despite my notifying them numerous times when making my reservation.

It's absolutely beautiful to look at, especially in photos... but there's where it stops. It's a real pity... but it's really style over substances. For this price range, there are better places to spend your money.

PS. Be advised that most rooms have no TV.
