“Worth a quick stop”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013

Bridge across river Pai, known as Memorial Bridge is one of the historical bridges in Thailand, though not as popular as the one across River Kwai.

Pai Memorial bridge was built in 1942, destroyed in a flood later and rebuilt again.

Today tourists can have a quick stop here, enjoying the scenery around and taking a walk across the bridge.

Do mind the gap in flooring

Following attractions are available:
1 Take a ride in the river on bamboo rafts
2 Take photo with Jack Sparrow or old scooter etc
3 Cafe with free wifi available
4 Lots of shops for shopping
5 Take photo next to telephone booth or post box

It is free and open round the clock.

“Historical Bridge”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

Somewhat interesting bridge in terms of it's history, but basically made into a tourist trap with stalls of knick kncaks for sale on both ends. Again--something to kill time in Pai

“Stop if it is on your way but don't do a trip just to see the bridge”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

Well, it is 'just' a bridge. We stopped on our way to the Pai Canyon. If you are a history freak you might enjoy this memorial a bit more but unfortunately the memorial board is only in Thai. Anyway, you can take great pictures from there with the river and the nice countryside.

“take your time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

this bridge, locals called 'Japanese WWII bridge", located at the outskirt part of Chengmai-Pai main road, is quite worth visit. IT is a old steel truss bridge, around 10km from Pai town area. no entrance fees for it, take your time to walk around the area, than enjoy country -side scenary around the bridge.

how to go:
hired a motorcycle, or take taxi, or cycling( make sure it is MTB with gear, or else you will exhausted in cycling such hilly route. AYA motor: 100B /day, bycle: 70B /day

“Its just a bridge”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

Ok so this is a bridge, that should be no surprise. It doesn't have frills or anything epic architecturally but i guess for those into history etc this might be of interest. There is a river flowing underneath and the view of the surrounding area is ok. I wouldn't go here specifically just to see the bridge, but you will most likely pass it on your way to other sites.
