“Great find for budget stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

We paid 350 Thai baht when visiting for a room with two beds and a private bathroom. Great find for the cost! Wifi only worked from outside the rooms, however, and—while not dirty—not the cleanest place we've stayed. The staff were lovely and it was nice to order food from the restaurant if we wanted. More important to me, the location was fantastic right in the middle of town; we could walk anywhere within five minutes.

Room Tip: Arrive earlier in the day to see what is available.

i found this youtube intro done by another traveller:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loEY5B25pG8

yes the room is HUGE! for 350B when i stayed there during the low season. guesthouse staffs are friendly and helpful! wifi was only available outside the room though. i had to sit outside my room every night, surfing my usual sites while feeding the mozzies at the same time.

the guesthouse is ran by a restaurant, and is located a minute or two away from the main streets. anyway Pai is a really small and nice town. you can walk to almost anywhere in the town itself, so dun be worried about not being on the main street. (i switched to this place after a night on the main street!)

theres no tv in the room, so it's basically no entertainment once u get inside your room. no wifi no tv. i could only listen to my songs on speaker mode. but it's ok for a couple of nights. another thing to note (which i already stated on my title): there are so many freakin huge lizards/geckos around the place and i am so scared of them. good thing is the mosquito nets installed around the whole place. smart thing coz they protect me from the gross creatures. (though everyday i still see their bodies plastered against the nets) freakin gross. scary note: hugest one i saw was longer than my palm and had black spots on it OMGGGGGG

glad to be back at home now. *shudders*

The TTK Guesthouse is located behind a restaurant of the same name (according to Pai Explorer, it stands for The Thai Kebab). I don't think it has been a guesthouse for long, and didn't seem to me to have been originally built for that purpose.

The room was quite unusual in that it had two beds; the main bedroom with a double bed and a separate section at the front with a single bed. It was quite long from front to back and the bathroom (with shower) was at the back. There was also a back door but there's nowhere to go out there except the kitchens of the restaurant. The room had a window and fan but not air-con.

Service was fine, not that I had any out-of-the-ordinary requests. The wi-fi wasn't the best, though - I'm not sure if they turned it off at night or it was just unreliable, but there's a net cafe next door whose wi-fi signal can be received in the room, for a fee.

Cleanliness was satisfactory. It wasn't dirty per se but I've definitely stayed in cleaner rooms during my Asian tour.
