“Perfection...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

We stayed here for 3 days and it was perfect. We loved it and it was very hard to leave. We were met from the ferry with water and a cold flannel and then taken to the hotel where we were blown away by the views and hotel environment. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially the bar staff by the pool. We didn't leave the complex except to kyak to neighbouring bays for a snorkle...we didn't need to go anywhere else,we woke up in paradise every day! The room was wonderful with an amazing sea view from the balcony. The beach is great for snorkelling (lots of sharks in the bay) and the pool was relaxing & clean. We didn't dive & I suppose it would have been nice to get a discount/complementary snorkle set but overall I can't recommend this hotel highly enough...it really was amazing! (yes, there are lots of steps but the hotel landscaping is so well done it didn't matter!)

On our arrival we were welcomed by two trainees which was very nice, they were extremely friendly and I really liked the way they worked together as a team. The reception is set at the top of the resort and overlooks the resort and the sea. The view from there is fantastic as well as from the room we were given. The staff in the reception and in the restaurant are good, professional and very polite. On the other had the Staff at the marina hut and the guy responsible from diving were a different story.
The price we paid for the stay was rather high and it was a surprise to be charged for using kayak or other equipment. If this was what I found annoying at the beginning it was nothing in comparison with trying to book a diving trip. I am certified advanced open water and my companion is open water diver. When we told the person in charge of diving in the resort that he said that we need to do a refresher as we have not been diving for 10 months. The package would include refresher course, one dive off beach and one from a boat. This would cost us about 7000thb. As we suspected, he had people doing their paid open water course and he wanted to drag us along and het extra money out of our wallets (he was a farang ) at the end we booked diving with Alvaro dive and we got what we wanted for half the price. During our stay we saw some other people trying to go diving with him and he would try the same trick on them as well.
Regarding the location of the hotel, it's nice unless you want to get out to buy something. The nearest 7eleven is 30 min hike and in the heat it's no fun trust me and taxi will cost you 600thb ... Just a shocking price to pay for 5 min ride.

The restaurant in the hotel is nice but the menu have not changed in the 3 days we have spent there and I cannot imagine staying there for any longer.

Also they are building/ renovating part of the complex and when we stayed there it was really noisy during the day so forget about relaxing by the pool.

Pros. Most of the staff, nice food selection from Thai/western food. Nice room.
Cons. Diving is a rip off and I would go as far as calling it a little scam. Location, food is. it served in the restaurant between lunch and dinner. Etc.
if going to koh Tao again I would first
Y look somewhere else to stay before coming back here

Room Tip: Beware this complex is on a hill. With LOOOADS of steps. If you have problem with steps or are elder...

The hotel is beautifully embedded in the rock slope, with a very impressive view at the sea. The staff is very pleasant and helpful and the breakfast buffet was very varied. The beach on the south side is paradise on earth, simply amazing. They provide a free shuttle which takes you to one of the nearby beaches, but you’d have to take a taxi on the way back. The only downside was the bathroom which was very sterile and rather disappointing for a hotel of this price range. I did love the breakfast buffet and the prompt service. My wife also tried the massage at the spa and she was very pleased with their services. I recommend it gladly, you’ll have a good stay there if you decide to book this hotel.

This place was marvelous! We had a great time here, living in paradise for a week or so. The white sand, the beautiful view of the sea and the beach from our suite, the great service, the beautiful environment and the delicious meals -- everything was perfect! We really had a great time, me and my boyfriend and friends. We went to the spa and really had a great time with the massage and the facial. We went snorkeling with the different types of fish, then we went on to go kayaking. We had lunch by the pool side, which was overlooking the sea. It was marvelous, and the weather was awesome when we got there. We were lucky because it wasn't the summer months, but the heat was immense -- which is good for us. There was not one moment or one penny of this trip that went to waste! I love every minute of it!

I took my wife to this resort for her 50th birthday, we stayed 4 days and 3 nights ( i live on the island) and it really was a fantastic time away, the rooms are fantastic and so is the food, the poolside and surrounding areas are fantastic, there is a dive school on site and try dives in the pool, just ask for Derek, and happy hour at the poolside bar is a great way to have a few cocktails before you eat, the food is amazing and we were looked after totally , we had the 3 hour spar treatment which again fantastic, thai massage and steam room, body wrap and a facial, the whole 4 days were magical, so make sure you spend some time at Jamahkiri, i know we will be back

Eveything is perfect!! We spent 3 night as part of our honey moon. Ocean view rooms are stunning!! All the hotel facilities make you want to stay forever! Is located in the best beach of Koh Tao. We did Scuba diving with the hotel diving club! Prices were good! The take you in their private beatiful Thai style boat, it was only the two of us and the instructor (Oriol), also great!!! Definatively coming back again!!

This is a beautiful hotel to stay at. Some of the negative comments about steep steps etc are true but unjustified. Its on the beach in a quiet, lovely part of the island and the views, rooms and amenities are worth the steps... also, think of it as a workout without having to actually workout.

The staff are really friendly and I found them very helpful with all my requests. Yes, some of them do not have great English (some almost none) BUT they are still better than most other places and they are more than happy to try work through what you want and there was a western manager there when I stayed who was able to step in when needed. The room I stayed in was brilliant. The bed was the softest one I slept on in Thailand which was a lovely change. The showers, water pressure etc were all top notch. The food was savage, especially the breakfast.

this place is lovely to stay for a couple or people wanting peace and quiet. If you want lively, go somewhere else. Also, the roads to get to it are steep, especially the last part. Do NOT rent a bike unless you are confident on them as the road is not for beginners. However, it isnt as bad as some negative customers have said. There are quads for rent if you do want to get around and they are safer and more comfortable if you do want to drive yourself and not rely on the shuttle (be mobile yourself and dont rely on their transport is my advice as you will be limited with where and what time you can move around if you do)...but thats not a complaint, its just a fact.

Would definitely go back!
