i recently done my advanced open water with cystal dive and i found them to be a very profesional and friendly dive school, as an example i was traveling on my own and so on my first night i was in the bar watching the video of that days course's, and one of the instructors finishing a course invited me along to have dinner with him and his newly qualified students (as i was on my own) and hadn't realy found my feet at that point, this made me feel very welcome.
the diving was realy good too, they offered most options for the advanced including photography, deep, mpv and naturalist. when out on the boat theres is always one person responsable for boat breifings and to make sure every one is back on the boat ( nothing like the horror story's i had heard about thailand). if any one is going i would recomend a trip out to sail rock on there speed boat which gets you out there in about 45 miniutes to an hour this is the furthest dive site from the island, although i dived some great ones closer such as shark island, no sharks though but some barracuda, sting rays, puffer fish and watch out for those trigger fish.
the accomadation offered was very basic but at very affordable rate, i read some of the other reveiws on crystal dive and i feel that if your looking for 5 star rooms look else were but for poor travellers like me who just want a basic clean room for next to nothing this is ya place i paid 300 baht a night about £3.60 as a diver i think non divers pay more (guess who they want filling there rooms), but dont excpect room service and breakfast in bed.
i hope everyone else enjoys there stay as much as i did.
