I made reservations at Crystal Dive Resort after viewing the website, corresponding via email to book my bungalow with AC. The deal was for 800 Baht per night if we dove with them every other day during our stay. We arrived there to find that they didn't have the bungalow I requested, though I'd made the reservation more than a month prior and had a confirmation code. What we got was a dingey, dirty little room in a cinderblock building. Aside from a rickety shelf containing a crappy 13" TV and a bed with a top sheet by Romper Room accompanied by a threadbare "blanket" that really looked like an oversized bath towel, there wasn't so much as a hook, shelf or table in the room; i.e. no place to put a bag or your clothes other than the floor. Saying the bathroom was "Spartan" would be kind. I don't mind having a toilet that doesn't flush, but I'd prefer mine to be without the previous occupant's solid remnants. It seems to me they could also have at least rinsed said occupant's hair off the walls, too. Oh, if you needed to use the toilet and your roomie was taking a shower, you'd get soaking wet. And, they didn't even provide TP. Add this to the deposit (100 Baht) for towels and their idea of a "safe box"--really just a locker near the restaurant for which you need to provide your own lock. Then, there's the pool. It looks big online, but it's small and constantly filled with half a dozen divers going through their OW certs. For a place that makes its living relying on the ecology of the surrounding marine preserve, they have a pretty lax attitude toward garbage. The "resort" as well as the beach in front of it were strewn with garbage including, but not limited to, food waste and broken glass. To say their advertising was deceptive is an understatement. DO NOT stay here. This is Crystal Dive LAST Resort.
