“Great place and great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

Let me start by saying that the hotel in not on the beach side. It's slightly further from the beach on the mountain side. it's far to walk to the town if you have to keep going back on forth but getting a bike makes that no issue at all. The guy who works there is really friendly and is always ready to help you with anything. try to book stuff through him as he will get discounts for you! Great room we had. The elephant towels are awesome. Me and my gf really loved it. It's also quiet because it's a bit further from the town which works because the town is just crazy noisy!

Would recommend it to anyone and would stay there again anytime.

The most uncomfortable bed I have ever tried in all my life! Impossible to sleep relaxed, old hard mattress no healthy for the back.
Horrible!!!
Cold shower.
Bad service of the hotel, everything is extra and hotel operators at the reception do not welcome hosts in any way, just ask for money. No helpful.

The staff were really helpful and friendly and offered us advice on where to visit without us even asking. We got the cheapest room and it was basic but very spacious and suited us fine. There wasn't a proper window which we liked because the light didn't wake us up too early! The room had air con and fans included in the price so it was very comfortable and cool. The beds were a little hard but I slept we'll regardless. Overall it was a great experience as the staff were so nice and the rooms were fine and the location was great- two minute walk from the beach!
I would stay here again :)

Positive nice things about this hotel:

>Very quiet, as on a side street and located on a hill and away from the main resort of Sairee
> Nice decorated bedroom with nice pictures on the walls and a nice balcony
> Beautiful views as suggested by the hotel name really do exist from the rooms
> Our room had air conditioning and mini bar in the room
> Only 5 minutes walk to the beach if you cut-through one of the hotels the other side of the road, ( But if you are not willing to cut through another hotel's grounds then you have to walk about 10 minutes along the road to Sairee village/resort to get beach access )

Negative/annoying things about this hotel:

>Not recommended for families (such as us with young children) or those disabled or people weak at climbing as for a high-up room there are many steps you need to go up, some of which are quite steep

>The hotel is quite far (about 10 minutes walk along the road which has some traffic) or 10 minutes along the beach (with the pushchair/stroller digging into the sand!) from the main village of Sairee and all the restaurants there and shops and bars. Therefore you do feel rather cut off from the main resort where all the action is.

Overall, if you want a hotel with great views and quiet and don't mind walking to the village and don't mind not being beachfront then this hotel is probably good value for money overall. However, if you like to be nearer to the shops bars and restaurants then I would personally suggest a different hotel more-in Sairee beach/village area as this hotel is rather far out especially if you have children and a pushchair/stroller which we had. Walking back to the hotel up some quite steep hills on the road or dragging the stroller through the sand on the very long beach from the village is then followed by having to climb some very steep steps to your room and by the time reach the room feel exhausted !! Took a taxi back to the hotel for this reason on our last day there from the village, but local taxis are not cheap. Not reccomended for families with small children, you better off being in main sairee village
For couples or singles a better situation especially if you rented a scooter to get into town and out and about maybe.

Room Tip: As this is a view-orientated hotel on a hillside with views of the beach and sea, it is rather obvio...

Excellent views across the bay just 5-10 mins walk from the beach and town. The hotel rents scooters for 200 baht a day putting everything a short ride away. The rooms are spacious and clean with a single and double bed. Big walk in shower. Double patios doors giving a fantastic view from the balcony. Yes this area can get power cuts but the room has both air con and fan and the fan will stay on in a power cut. Breakfast is simple help yourself to coffee, tea cereals and toast and enjoy the views. I found this hotel a very peaceful relaxing stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly and it was very easy to book a taxi and ferry ticket to Koh Samui. All this at a very reasonable price of 1800 baht for air con room. Highly recommended but book in advance it had no rooms available when we first went so we booked and returned.

Room Tip: Higher the floor the better the view

I stayed here in early February. Great hotel with beautifully furnished rooms and views although it is quite a way to the main beach if you're walking. The couple who run the hotel are the friendliest people you could ever meet. They both really made me feel at home! I highly recommend staying here.

The other reviews here are very weird and inaccurate. We've been staying here for a month now and it's perfect.

Firstly, the beach is a 2 minute walk away. Straight across the road, down the path through Koh Tao Cabana and you're there. Here you can find the nearest restaurants. Some beach front ones and also the most beautiful restaurant on Koh Tao - Rim Lae.

This place is not smack bang in the middle of town, so if you want to stay above the Seven Eleven then this is not the place for you. However, if you want to stay somewhere with incredible views of the island that is a 5-10 min walk from the town centre and very peaceful, then this is a great option.

If you're old, have impaired mobility and can't afford a £2 taxi into town, then you may want to consider somewhere more central. Another reviewer claims that the hotel is scary at night. If you are scared of silence then this is also not the place for you.

The staff are the friendliest I've met on all my travels and the deluxe sea view bedroom is big and bright with a great shower. Biggest and most comfy bed I've slept on in Thailand by far. The view over the island is spectacular. The doors to the room are just massive sliding windows when you open the curtains it's very bright and the view is perfect. The balcony to our room (Room K - Deluxe Sea View?) is massive and in direct sunlight. Plenty of space to lie out in the sun if you can't be bothered drag yourself down to the beach. Cleaning service is great and the staff are happy to attend to all your needs.

The TVs are pretty new, USB ports, HDMI etc, so you can plug some films in from your laptop/hard drive if you want to.

The only slight negative is the WiFi. It does have a habit of cutting in and out sometimes. Not often, but often enough to be a nuisance. Easily the best option here is to ask reception for a "Koh Tao WiFi card" at reception. The island has its own WiFi so you can connect wherever you go on the island so is a very handy thing to have anyway. This costs 500B (£10) for 1 week or 1000B (£20) for 1 month. This is the fastest way to use internet on the island and much better than any of the hotel WiFis we have used. (Saying that, the WiFi at Sairee Sea View hasn't cut out for about a week now, so may be getting better)

To sum up: big, bright, comfortable rooms, amazing views, peaceful location, amazing staff.

(quick note: like most places in Thailand they have moped rental. Like EVERYWHERE in Thailand, they make their money overcharging you for scratches. Every single day we watch the comedy show of bewildered tourists across the island dumbfounded by what they're charged when they return their bikes. Koh Tao roads are gravelly at best and there are plenty of pot holes. The underside of your moped will get scratched and you will be charged for it. Expect to pay £50-£100 extra for your bike rental. Crash it/topple it and the price gets higher. My advice: don't do it)

Room Tip: Room K is awesome (Deluxe Sea View Room?), but all the sea view rooms seem great.
