The food is spectacular, we felt like I was back in Melbourne with the quality here. We visited four times over two months, every time the food was nothing short of amazing. The New Zealand Ribeye steak is amazing. When we eat out, steak is my thing. I've dined at many great steak houses around the world, and Barracuda's Rib Eye is probably my number 3. No 1 being from Squires Loft, Melbourne, No 2 being the Novo restaurant at the Fiji Intercontinental Resort. The grill chef at Barracuda should be proud of their dish.
Most people go to Barracuda for the seafood, and unlike most seafood focused restaurants, the steak is amazing, and not a terrible afterthought. My wife, parents and friends had a variety of seafood dishes and loved them every time as well.
For Celiacs sufferers like myself, from experience, the mixed salad from the sides list, even with the dressing, is safe. The New Zealand rib eye, and its sauce, is gluten free, and cooked on a gluten free grill. (I'm so bad I will be in serious pain with dire consequences within 5 mins of consuming gluten, and sick for 3 days). The cheesecake is safe if you avoid the biscuit base.
As for table service, considering the location and conditions, they get a solid 5 stars form me. Look where you are people. We tried some of the other highly rated restaurants on the island, and these guys are clear winners.
