I stayed at Good Dream Hostel for five nights and really enjoyed it. It isn't in the main part of Sairee Beach town so it is quiet, but only a 5 minute walk to the 7/11 and a 10 minute walk to the middle of the beach. The beds were wide, stable and had good quality matresses and pillows, and the bedding was clean. Each bunk has its own light and electrical socket, with small shelves in the wall for you to store things. Our dorm (R) had an ant problem, but the manager was aware of it and tried to fix it. It's very quiet and the staff were friendly.

then it is the right guest house for you.
I stood here in January 2013th At the basement are 2 bars and rally very noisy. Both of them close after 2 am Anyway many times i had not water or electricity in my room. Internet connection is absolutely slow. Also had many of ants in my room. Should you want stay longer, check the electric meter properly. Probably the landlord will said the electricity meter is defect. Do not believe him. The owner would cheating you with your deposit. Be aware.

Checked in here after being thrown out of Backpackers and could not have been happier! Spotlessly clean, great private facilities, fast wifi, excellent AC, comfy wide beds that are built into the wall, wall socket and cubby hole to each bed and if you need anything, there is an extremely friendly manager. All for the same price as Backpackers...would now never stay anywhere else.

What I love about this hostel is attention to detail. It's not luxurious...good value though! But although we were 8 in a room I felt it was private. There is a lamp near the bed with a shelf to store your stuff, lockers, hooks per bed, on suite showers and toilets that are cleaned regularly and awesome people!

Stayed here in a double room for two nights after full moon. We would have stayed longer but had to move due to the noisy building happening next door. I appreciate those can't be helped and have not let this affect my rating but thought I would mention it for people travelling in the next few weeks.

The rooms were big and clean with a decent bathroom. Thebeach is three minute walk away and the maim area with bars about 5mins, good for if you want to be away from it all and sleep at night but close enough. The rooms could easily be broken into as some people have mentioned but you do have to walk past he families living quarters to get to rooms so it would be unlikely. We had no real problems here other than he building works (7am wake ups with builders hammering and singing after a night out are not fun) and also the owners children playing on the corridors. If we managed to get back to sleep after the building awakening we would then be woken again before 9am by the children screaming past our rooms and running up and down he corridor. I am no scrooge and appreciate young children need to play...however, the rooms are on the higher floor than where the family live and at that time of a morning I would have thought the are told to play on their floor to not awaken guests.

Anyway overall it was a pleasant stay and we would stay again if the building was still going on!

I was just re-reviewing places on Ko Tao because I'm returning 4 years after my first visit. I knew nothing of Ko Tao and booked the Khun Ying House. I am not a dorm-staying type person so I booked a private room with air con. It was great! Marble floors, modern bathroom (private) some satellite TV (hey - sometimes...I need a little TV - gimme a break) and a short walk to the beach and town and Sairee village. I stayed 4 nights here - and loved it. there are no amenities - other than a shared kitchen - but it was a bargain for the room with private bath and TV and yes, I paid extra for air con - I think it was about 1200 baht in total - but just for me - perfect!

Room Tip: can't talk about the dorms - but loved my private room
