“Perfect location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2010

The resort is very well situated, about three minutes walk from the pier, and with direct access to the sea. There is a beautiful "three-in-one" infinity pool. Our room had an amazing view on the sea, and a jacuzzi bathtub. Definitely, I think this hotel is much nicer than it appears on their website. However, we had the impression that it is not fully finished: there are still some works going on, some details in the room could be added to make them more charming, internet isn't working all the time, breakfast could be improved, etc. I would still recommend it!

We stayed 3 weeks in Thailland, the service we got everywhere was excelent but here it was awfull.
People just want your money and tries to increase the price all the time.
We had to change 4 times rooms in one day because the always gave us a bad room.
The weather was not so good so they asked us to pay all the nights in advance!!!
For sure do not book this hotel!

My wife and I were on a honeymoon and Koh Tao was the first stop. We decided to take the best room at the Koh Tao Regal Resort. At 4900 Baht a night it was pricey for what you get. We were within walking distance of the pier that we came off of (Mae Head) from the Lomprayah ferry. The dive resort (Crystal Dive) was also within waking distance. This property was beach front an had a gorgeous pool and view of the beach. Couldn't beat the scenery and the beautiful balcony we had in our room. The hotel was fairly new, and rooms were clean. Also a very quiet place, not crowded (esp with these prices). My experiences did not start off well. The staff was helpful and friendly, but English was difficult and they put us in a regular room at first. Eventually I asked to move to the large room we had originally paid for but here was the big gotcha in both the rooms we tried here: unless you have your key card in a slot inside the room, the electricity for the whole room is OFF. This means the tiny A/C unit inside each room is off and takes FOREVER to even start cooling. Our first day in our room was incredibly hot, and finally during the night we were finally able to bring it down to a decent temperature. It was also annoying that asking for an extra key was out of the question unless i put down a 500 BAHT deposit. Overall, we just had to settle in and realize we were not really at a world class facility in terms of service. I give this an average rating because even though everything was fairly nice, the annoyances in service and underpowered AC units made it a bit tough for this high price
