“Medium range hotel well situated, low value for the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2014

Weves stayed four nights in this hotel in april 2014.
Had a pool side villa which is comfortable but not luxurious. Room is a bit noisy at night.
Pool is large but not super clean. Breakfast is very weak for the price weve paid (2600baths).
Staff is helpfull even if it is very difficult to communicate and get what you want.
It goes with the sea shell dive center next to it which is nice, however, no need to stay at the hotel to get discounts while diving as youll only get 50baths of per dive (1€).
Situated in the main beach village of koh tao, nice if you want to hang around for bars and restaurants.
Doesnt worth the price weve paid.

We had booked this in February on recommendation from a friend! It was perfect for our stay, our little bungalow was so cute. Brilliant AC and the cleaners were so good, we would come back to our room smelling so clean and fresh. Location was perfect like 5min walk to the beach bars and 5mins walk to all the amazing shops. Fizz bar is at the bottom of the road and wow the food is unreal and you can watch the sunset from here. You could rent towels and snorkelling equipment from the hotel and book trips too!! The pool is by far one of the best I have seen make the most of this! 100% recommended to all!

The Seashell Resort is nice, and we have stayed there three years in a row.

Friendly staff, nice pool and pool area, a good variety of rooms, and a nice buffet breakfast in a new building that was just built.

The location is in our opinion quite perfect, as there is a nice beach just tens of meters away from the reception, yet it's located in the other town centre of Koh Tao. You can easily grab a moped to get around the island to the other smaller and quieter beaches. Also, there is plenty of nightlife just a very short walk away, and I mean plenty on the scale of Koh Tao. Lots of restaurants to choose from as well.

The staff has always been helpful in all things, from getting a ferry out to answering questions.

The resort grounds are a very nice garden type ordeal creating some nice seclusion for the pool area. The sun shines on the pool from sun up to sun down which is great.

The breakfast is of the buffet variety, and has plenty to offer.

You can also get discounts on rooms if you go diving at Seashell Divers which is a plus, albeit that's a norm at Koh Tao.

Room Tip: We always preferred the pool side villas, as they have the greatest atmosphere. The pool side villas...

As soon as we walked past the poolside villas, we knew we had to stay there. After backpacking around Thailand for a few months, my partner and I decided to treat ourselves.....and wow this really was a special treat. The villas were pretty expensive for Thailand, compared to other places that we had stayed, but you pay for what you get. The rooms opened up into the pool and just a few steps away from the beach, which is fantastic.
Staff were brilliant, always welcoming us with a smile and willing to help. Rooms were tidied to a excellent standard. Breakfast was ok, plenty of selection.
Cant wait to return to this resort in the near future, Thailand has always had a special place in my heart!

I stayed at seashell mostly because of its swimming pool :), I got bungalow nbr 11, for 1 person its ok, aircon, hot water for 900Baths/day. I likes the breakfast but agree that they should pay attention to the uncovered food (flies, etc). They have lots of categories of rooms and prices. Spa is very nice and i cant complain about the staff, they were Always helpfull when i needed.
The dive resort is TOP! New equipments, friendly and nice instructors, loved it!

Room Tip: Try not to choose the bungalows on the back of the resort (near the big road)

I did my padi open water diver at the seashell diving center and liked it so much I even did the deep diver and wreckdiver on top of the that! Great dive instructors(especially David) nice atmosphere small groups(max 4 people) and the perfect mix between fun and the necessary seriousness during the dives. In short the dive center is great and I can only say good things about it! The acommondation... Well as a backpacker this was definitely one of our better places during the nights bit when you are looking for a fancy luxurious resort this is not the perfect address! Don't get me wrong! Its nice with several pools and friendly personal but the bungalow was without air con and could use some renovation! In the end i enjoyed my stay there and especially the diving very much! So have fun and if you should think about doing your open water at koh tao ask for David as your dive instructor (the crazy Spanish guy);-)

Me and my friend were staying here for 2 weeks sightseeing and partying. We upgraded to a villa [which was roughly £20pppn] and the room was great but no frills. The bed was the most comfortable one I have ever slept in and the shower/bathroom was nice but hot water appeared to be non-existent – not that it really mattered as it was so hot anyway that a cold shower was good.

All the villas are located around the pool which is nice and my advice to anyone would be to upgrade if possible. I saw some of the basic rooms and they were quite basic and didn’t even have air con.

The pool is of a good size [the small round one looked like a sewage pit though] and the sun loungers did the job but ideally need replacing.

The restaurant is right on the beach and is beautiful. It serves good food and the service was great. The view is to die for.

After 2 weeks I got to know the island quite well and this is the perfect location for the beach and beach parties. I would definitely book here again.
