“Amazing place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

This must be like a pice of heaven on earth! The view was wonderful. Rooms so so beautiful, staff so kind and friendly. The whole atmosphere was quite and relaxing. Breakfast was like a restaurant where you could order what you wanted to eat. Was awesome to get back from the beach in the afternoon and relax in the pool with a fruit drink with that amazing view. Was there april 2010.

We have just spent 3 nights at this fabulous hotel and had a great time. The room on 2 levels was very well equipped and spacious and an excellent size. The bed was the most comfortable we have slept in on our travels. The staff are very helpful and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. They hired scooters and organised trips for us snorkelling at very good prices. The pool was great after an energetic day seeing around the beautiful island. Breakfast choices were varied and I can totally recommend the English Breakfast which was cooked to perfection each morning.
Although it is quite a hike up the hill for two 50year olds! it is so worthwhile when you see the view from the hotel- Amazing!!! We would recommend you stay at this wonderful hotel, you will NOT be disappointed.

I was on the Island for three days, slept in this hotel for two days and I have nothing to say! Everything is perfect (hot shower, FANTASTIC VIEW!, nice rooms). It is a little bit more expensive but worth every bath!! The pool is great, very calm, A/C and wifi for free. The cliff is somenthing, but we were two girls on a scooter and everything was fine! I think that as nothing to do with the hotel. Plus, the beach is litteraly 5 minutes away! I just don't want to leave! Loving it!

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel and really loved it. Like others we didnt think that the hill could be quite that bad, but it really is. It seriously takes it out of you, and taxis charge quite a bit extra to drive up it. However, as everyone also says, you cant get such a beautiful view without the hill. The swimming pool was beautiful and the food was lovely. The staff were also lovely and helpful, apart from one of the owner's relatives who appeared to be doing nothing more than using the fascilities and making the guests feel uncomfortable. The only thing that I would say is that it is a little far away from the main part of town, but it is also nice to feel so secluded. I would highly recommend it.

Ok ok the 'HILL' yes it is steep, yes its hot BUT you don't get awesome views without height on your side. We are a couple that has just turned 30 and not particularly athletic and we survived just fine! Take it slow its only 200m long tops and if all else fails get a taxi! Plus the hotel will pick you up and drop you off on arrival and departure so the bags are never a problem.
Back to the hotel - really nice staff, very helpful and the friendliest we found on our trip to Thailand. Nice pool with lovely views and the views from the bungalow we had was amazing. The air con does need the room key to make it work, but it cools down within 10-15mins, we had no problem. Breakfast was good and for the 2 nights we stayed we ate at the restaurant and the food was excellent. It is more expensive, in relation to the rest of Thailand, but you do get what you pay for and as for the Geckos - we saw one in our room and unless you live in an airtight box you will see them in any resort in Thailand. There is less accommodation choice as Koh Tao is so small and if you want to stay away from Sairee beach and the crammed in dive hotels in that region - give this hotel a go - but don't complain about the hill or Geckos your in SE Asia after all :)

We saw the reviews of this hotel and thought that the hill would not be that bad...but it was. It was particularly hot when we were there and this made the hill even worse. So, no problem right? Just take a taxi up it. The issue was that we rarely had occassion to take taxis and we weren't too steady on the scooters so going up or down that hill was scary. Also, the air conditioning only comes on when you put the key in the slot and so you climb that huge hill only to arrive in a sweltering room that took several hours to cool off. I was basically sweating the whole time in Ko Tao with little relief. If you think that this would bother you, don't stay here. However bad you think this might be, just multiply it. We are a young couple and pretty athletic so that should give you a frame of reference.

On the positive side, the lady at the counter was very nice and helpful and the views are spectacular as advertised. However, the bad points outweigh the good. I would not stay here again.
