Phi Phi island posed quite a dilemma for us. We wanted to find a nice hotel in a good location, but just couldn't find it. The most popular beach in the island (the place known as "tourist village") offers many backpackers guesthouses. If you want to stay at a nice resort, you should go to a more secluded beach.
Being a young couple we wouldn't compromise on a good location, so we had to really lower our standards when it comes to the hotel.
Considering the options you'd find in Phi Phi - the PP Casita is a fair enough place to stay. Our room (building) was basic but nice, and the pool was fun as well.
Few defects you might want to know before coming are, first of all, that the employees are not nice at all. Not that they've done something to us, but they always kept their faces so serious like they're angry or something. Moreover, as some pointed out before me, the whole place seats on a swamp, and some rooms have a disgusting view of it. Breakfast was nothing to write home about. After giving it two chances we decided going out for breakfast.
Overall, and if you consider the options I'd say it's a good place to stay in Phi Phi island. Just don't stay too much at the hotel, take advantage of its central location and enjoy the beautiful island!
