To be short and to the point the location of this hotel is what gives credibility to the high cost of the accommodation (£100 per night). The remainder of the resort and the experience we had was not worth the money.
If I did it all over again I would stay elsewhere in Phi Phi Don.
The location is on Long Beach which is a short long tail boat ride away from Ton Sai pier. The resort staff collect you from the pier on arrival (after this the taxi will cost 100 TBH day / 150 TBH after 6pm each way).
The resort has a private beach with plastic loungers and towels provided. The water is clear and not too deep for a swim and you can even snorkel as fish / coral can be seen in the water.
The rooms are nice and big with a decent size shower, patio, bed plus aircon and TV. And the views from our room 4120 were gorgeous to wake up to and breakfast had a lot of variety.
The downside is the staff experience.
Firstly, I thought there was a language barrier that was creating issues when asking for assistance or advice or making a complaint. But then I was corrected as any time the conversation was about money from their side their English speaking skills posed no issues.
We had our iPhone stolen from the 'lets sea' bar on the resort and it was obvious the staff or long tail boats drives took it. The staff at the bar and the the hotel and front desk were unbelievably unhelpful. They even found the rather upsetting situation amusing. They did not help us look and every time I asked at the front desk if it had been handed in they rolled their eyes and couldn't be bothered to respond properly.
A few of the staff were polite, kind and genuinely interested in creating a positive experience and impression.
Like other guest's reviews, we also found the staff service extremely slow and rude when it came to ordering food and drinks. It would take an age to receive our drinks and food and when the food did arrive it was of poor quality. However, when asking for the bill they would bring it over and stand over you until you paid it!!!
All in all the location is great, rooms are lovely, the beach was lovely too.
The big big downside was the immature customer service experience from what seemed like kids taking summer jobs and not appreciating their guests. I would not stay again. I like to feel that staff value their guests.
