The worst experience of MY LIFE. I had planned this vacation for years... so when I decided to stay on Koh Phi Phi, I wanted ocean front accommodations, beauty, and serenity. The best of the best were completely booked, or simply too expensive. So I booked THE BEST room they had, and spent top dollar. I requested a non-smoking room, with 2 beds, ocean front. When they put us in our room (which was an 1/3 mile uphill walk), we noticed it didn't have to 2 beds, and they said if we wanted to wait 2 hours one would be available. So we decided to take a trip through the hotel for 2 hours to Bamboo Island to kill the time and for enjoyment. Upon return, we were checked into our room, which was reeking with not only cigarette smoke, but some kind of perfume spray to cover it up. I called the front desk immediately and told them they put us in a smoking room when we requested a non-smoking. The manager flat out lied to me and told me the people before us were just smoking outside and they would come by and spray more perfume spray. That is disgusting, so I opted for the previous room and they would need to provide a roll-away. They told me that would cost extra, and I then started to get very upset. I refused to pay, and demanded they rectify their mistakes. We trekked back to the first room and began to settle in. I took a shower, and there was no hot water. There were bugs everywhere, had killed 3 giant spiders, saw spider webs all over, and found 3 lizards in the room. Later on, when I wanted to get comfortable in bed, I noticed that the bed was TEAMING with ants. . . not just a couple here and there . . . but INFESTED. We began to peel the bed apart and noticed an ant farm underneath the mattress!!!! Then we looked on the floors that we had been walking barefoot on (very dark in color), and saw ants all over the floor!! They were all over the bathroom sink, and there were dead bug guts all over the walls. The dark, dimly lit 1/3 mile back to the front desk was scary, but I was so furious and at 10:30pm, after traveling all day, we had no choice but to demand our money back and move to another hotel. They ended up moving us to another one of resorts on the beach, which was lovely (not ocean front like we wanted but clean). Because I purchased through Orbitz (there was no other way, their website was dysfunctional), they told me to contact Orbitz and they would refund the money. I would have called Orbitz, but was a bit difficult to do from Thailand. So I emailed them, and they spoke with Phi Phi Natural Resort and they said that the resort refused to refund the money. At this point, we were scheduled to leave the island in an hour. I was fuming at this point and in tears, so I stormed down to the resort and demanded to immediately speak with a manager (which they lied to me and said one wasn't available). After breaking down in tears and raising my voice, one finally appeared and told me they had to charge me for the 2 hours we spent in the room. I almost had an aneurysm. I ended up getting on the phone with someone from Bangkok telling them to give me a letter or invoice stating to refund all of my money. . . .which I finally succeeded in getting. However, after traveling 24 hours on a plane, 1 hour by car, and 2 hours by ferry, this is not the treatment I expected from a Thai resort. I do not know if this was an isolated incident, but I would stay far far away from Phi Phi Natural. We ended up staying at the PP Erawan which was a little less in price, but clean, attentive, and lovely. Vacations should not raise the blood pressure unless you are swimming with a humpback whale. Any questions, let me know... that was definitely the beach to stay on... very few people, but not so few it's scary.
Don't stay at this resort at all.... I saw two of the best ocean front rooms they had and they w...
