The best thing about this hotel is the pool. The location isn't bad either, close to the main village to go for lunch and dinner, but far enough away that you don't get any noise. Also nice and close for the ferry and booking any day trips.

But the pool was just lovely. I could spend hours just sitting under the umbrella by the pool gazing over the turquoise waters of the bay. There is pool side drinks and food service but it isn't very frequent.

The room is just an average 3 star-ish, nothing special sort of room but with a fantastic view. The bed is on the hard side, like all beds in Thailand. Nice balcony. Noisy airconditioning.

Overall, the pool and the location are what makes this resort for me.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights at the Cabana Hotel.

The location is perfect. Enough said on that already. The location and views from the room and hotel deserve a 5 star rating. The pool a 3.5--beautiful pool but the water turned my husbands white swimming shorts yellow of all colors :) The food a 4. The room itself a 2.5 rating. I want to say first, we had a wonderful time on Phi Phi and didn't have a bad time at all staying at this hotel even if the room was "lacking" and the little things--we tend to make the best no matter where we stay and still loved Phi Phi. Most of the staff didn't go out of their way to be friendly, but also still were of help when we did need them.

The grounds are nice; the views are wonderful. We stayed on the 4th floor in Room 4304 (highest floor) and the view is breathtaking. The room itself though leaves much to be desired... It is a small size with older antique green color furnishings. It looks like they are trying to remodel the rooms and bathrooms in particular, but not quite finished with the remodel and what is remodeled shows to be a bit sloppy. The bathroom contained some granite on the walls and sink area but very old dingy green tile on the shower floor (with dirty grout). We used sandals in the shower to take a shower as it "felt" dirty when looking at it (sand left over from previous guests and the dirty grout). My husband thought the closet smelled like pee, but we didn't use it except for the safe that was in it. Hotel shampoo was herbal essence and conditioner was pert plus--or at least that is what I gathered from the smell :)

Sheets and pillows were clean, and other in-room things seemed clean enough. Mattress had an "older" feel to it (that sagging-feel you get when laying on an old mattress), but was comfortable enough to sleep well.

Again, we loved the location, so if you can find it worth paying extra for an suite (maybe these are better remodeled?) this hotel may be a much better place to stay. I would try a different hotel if we are able to visit Phi Phi again, but at the same time, I think the area is great for first-timers to be near the downtown area and boats. ...So I am torn--amazing view but not a great room.

Rather a bland place to stay in such a great location but we were pushed for time and wanted to be near Ton Sai. We moved here from the Holiday Inn at Laem Tong, after a disappointing stay there.

The hotel has mediocre rooms but a great swimming pool. Staff were OK, no problems. The pool looks out over the bay North of Ton Sai, which is nice.

The best thing about the Cabana is that's it's very close to Ton Sai village, which is full of bars and restaurants. Also 5 minutes from the main wharf, which is good for catching an early ferry or long tails to other beaches and islands.

We booked our stay at Cabana through ATM Hotels.com - one to keep an eye on as they managed to get our booking wrong online so best to follow up after making payment with an email or telephone call.
On arriving at the Cabana we were pleasantly surprised - not only was it such a short walk from Ton Sai Pier, but it was large, clean and backed onto a lovely quiet beach Loh Dalum bay (albeit a little rubbish-strewn) and a nice sized clean swimming pool overlooking the beach.
The 2 rooms they gave us initially turned out to be unavailable due to refurbishment works, luckily they were able to quickly give us available rooms on the next floor up. The rooms were spacious and comfortable - we stayed 3 in a room and they provided us with a double bed and a single 'extra' bed.
Overall, I would definitely consider staying here again as the location is so close to the main through road of Ton Sai Village, but it's worth looking into the resorts further in from the Pier too, near Long Beach, which is about a 10-15 min stroll away.
