Beautifully situated quiet hotel, on a lovely safe beach. A pleasant walk from end to end of the beach. A little school was hidden away at one end just off the beach.The sea was good for swimming,
Our ground floor room which was clean & comfortable,although it was somewhat lacking in storage space looked out over trees,inhabited by many birds.
Good breakfast with well cooked eggs etc We also enjoyed our meals in the evening.
All the staff were extremely friendly & helpful
Some shops & bars just outside the hotel, making for a change of scenery, instead of walking on the beach.

We had three rooms as a large family (aged 5 - 60) at the Havana and arrived after spending Christmas and New Years on Koh Samui. It was such a relief to be picked up at the ferry to avoid the chaos of taxis and touts. The drive was beautiful, bumpy, and about 45 minutes. We were all pleased with our rooms, enjoyed the restaurant (after being in Thailand for a month (it was nice to have some Indian food to choose from), loved the clean pool, and above all loved the staff. People seemed genuinely pleased to work at Havana. From what we saw on the occasions that we left this beach, we felt that it was the best beach - quiet, nice water, and beautiful scenery. Our only issues were the garbage that washed up on the beach (a problem all over Thailand it seemed)....the owner or staff did go and pick some up. Another caution is the jet ski rental kiosk on the beach (run by a French man) seems to be getting a reputation being untrustworthy and do not rent from him (I think he may be involved in the car / scooter rentals). Overall - the Havana was a perfect spot.

This was our 4th time at the Havana. First time was when they just opened in 2006. Since then we said we probably would not come back, mpstly due to the fact that places seems to never be as good as you remember them when you return later. However we did return. Many times. And the thing with Havana is: it is just as good as you remember it...

They say location is everything. Well let me tell you, if you´re looking for some place to go where you kid of feel you have found a secluded peace of Thailand where things are as you imagine it would be on a remote yet civilized beach in Thailand, Thong nai pan yai is the place. There are no words of how much we love this place and it is with mixed feelings we share it with others.

The hotel is perfectly located on the beach. Rooms are great, nothing over the top but what you expect it to be. There are cheaper places to stay at, but if you consider they have the best pool, extremely professional staff, good breakfast it´s woth the extra baths to stay here.

Mr Raja, Meenu, City, Addy, Nono and everyone else: Thank you for making our three weeks with you wonderful! We are still travelling Thailand for some more weeks and still your place is the best! Keep up the good work and I guess we´ll meet again soon...

The Havana Beach Resort is a small family run hotel in a great location on a beautiful beach. The bedrooms were very clean and as we were on the second floor ( only two floors) we were up in the trees listening to the birdsong. We had a lovely large balcony with rustic table and stools. The whole resort is rustic and just as we expected for a small island like Koh Phangan. The bedroom and bathroom did lack storage space, a few drawers in the bedroom and a long shelf in the bathroom would sort that out.We were very lucky to have a bath as well as a shower in our bathroom so we could use the end of the bath for some storage. The food was very good with the most wonderful BBQs on the beach where you could select your own fish or meat and veg and they cooked it for you the barracuda was delicious. Eating on the beach with the beautiful bay illuminated with colourful lights was magic. The staff were wonderful always smilling and ready to help. Snorkelling trips are available from the beach. There are a few deck chairs on the beach and the hotel say they are going to get more. We stayed at the Havana Beach for three wonderful nights.
