We stayed nearby but ended up eating here everyday. We loved the resturant at this hotel. Great location right on the beach with a varied menu. We found the staff to be very helpful and attentive although could be quite keen for you not to outstay your welcome! We enjoyed the food and didn't think it was outrageously overpriced as we have encountered in other places.

Resort with good location for FUll Moon party but very unfriendly and unhelpful Staff. Before arrival I had paid half of the total price. Upon arrival, I was obliged to pay the full amount, while my friends could pay at the end of our stay. Staff is unfriendly, ask you to pay for everything.
beach is nice but the sea is not the one you would expect on those islands (much better beaches elsewhere in Koh Pan ghan): definitively good location for full moon but would not consider it as a good value for money.

Thank you very much for spending time reviewing the experience of your stay with us. I, personally, have to offer you a sincere apologies for this incident. May we take this opportunity to explain to you once again that we never had any intention to make you feel the treatment offerred was unfair between you and your friends, not at all.
During the full moon period, most guests will be requested (pre-informed) to make a payment after the guests saw the rooms and are happy with it. This is just for creating a faster and smoother checking out process which are normally all at the same hour of boat and on the same day after party. If there were no prepayment for some rooms, there will be surely a huge delay to all guests departure schedule.
However, this is not a strict request so we generally asked your group but all of your friends, except you, prefered to pay later and we had no problem with it. This seemed unacceptable for you to be the only person who paid before. The duty manager was called to offer you a sincere apologies and offered you back many times all the paid money. However, that was refused but we were requested for kinds of compensation instead which at the end was satisfied by you when received one though it couldn't be all as requested.
Again I really have to ensure with you the hotel has a good standard of policy and also the flexibilities in all circumstances. All treatment to all guests are fair. If this would make you feel better, we would like to welcome you back again and we will prepare some special treatment for you and your group of friends - equally nice, we promise :)

After to travelling to over 53 countries and staying at numerous hotels, I'd like to think I know what I want in a beach hotel. Cleanliness, good rooms, great staff, good food, great beach and Sarikantang has the lot!

The hotel is situated in Haad Rin, but actually on Leela Beach, smaller (arguably better?) brother to Haad Rin beach which is where the full moon party is.

Upon arrival into Haad Rin, if you've told them when your arriving they will send a free pick up which is always welcoming. Check in is a breeze with a free drink.

There is a variety of bungalows to suit all needs and they are all a good standard. We have stayed a few times at this resort and one thing that's been constistant over the years is all the rooms we have stayed have been spotlessly clean, sure your going to encounter a few ants and geckos now and a again, I'll give you a tip, ants and geckos have no preference why they abide, be it in a budget place or the best 5 star accommodation. They are part of the nature, so just deal with it.

Inside the room there is a TV and DVD player, which I believe you can borrow films at reception, if that's your ticket. There is also a much needed refrigerator with prices much the same as the resturant but there's nothing stopping you from filling it up your self.

The bungalows are well spaced out, and you never feel 'your on top of each other' unlike the awful Coco Hut next door, which has a 'cram them all in philosophy'

The hotel has two pools, one right on the beach and the other at the Lanai Rooms, both were virtually empty during our stay.

Breakfast is an excellent buffet with plenty to choose from and sets you up for a 'hard day on the beach'

I've saved the best part of this hotel till last. The resturant. Overlooking the beach it's wonderful place to have a nice meal at night. There is a good selection of Thai and Western dishes, all wonderfully presented in a nice ambient atmosphere.

Why is Sarikantang so low on Trip Advisor after I've giving it a great write up you ask? It's because the majority of the guests don't speak English, that's not to say there aren't any, and that's just fine with us, as we like our privacy.

Whether your here for a quiet holiday or partying till dawn on Full Moon, Sarikantang is the perfect place to stay in Haad Rin.

We stayed here for 3 nights wanting to spoil ourselves a bit... and we were not disappointed. We booked the superior room, spacious clean room and bathroom. Creamy complimentary toiletries, bottled water each day, kettle and drbk sachets, large tv, dvd player (good selection if latest dvds in reception).

At every turn there was a smiling face from staff members. They were very friendly and helpful in arranging a tour for us with a travel company. Buffet breakfast was basic, but adequate for us. They gave a good and fairly priced menu for a la carte food.

2 nice pools, private beach on doorstep. Haad drin centre is about 10minutes away to walk which we did not mind. The hotel had a shuttle bus whuch runs at certain times, you just need to enquire and book at reception.

We had a minor problem with tiny ants by the bathroom sink (i dont know where they kept coming from). Staff addressed this immediately.

Just a heads up, if you decide to walk it when you arrive, you go past the coco huts sign (dusty road along the left). This does not look like an official paved road but walk up and around a little and you will see the sign.

Our transfer boat was at 8.30pm and we were offered the spa washroom facilities to freshen up before we left, which was a nice touch.

Exceptional value for money. A nice bit of luxury without breaking the bank.

Stayed here for full moon party with a group of friends in January. We really enjoyed our stay in a superior room. The resort is in the perfect location- just 5 minutes from the town and 5 minutes from the full moon but still adjacent to a peaceful beach. I would absolutely recommend staying here but I do think that the management should consider spraying the resort to ward off mosquitoes as they were rather bothersome while we stayed there.

My friends and I stayed here for a week over full moon party period in January. We stayed in the beachfront villas which were amazing- literally metres from the water with our on deck chairs on the balcony, swing chairs, comfy beds and nice bathrooms. Our choice to splurge and book the best rooms definitely improved our experience- although the resort is in a great location, customer service is literally non existent and you have to seek out waiters in the restaurants etc. Because we ate there quite a lot, this became incredibly annoying. The resort itself is in a good location- only a few minutes walk from Hat Rin but still private. If they improved customer service levels it could be incredible.

Thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to learn about the area that we failed. First of all, we are happy to know that you enjoyed staying in our beachfront suite and enjoy all facilities. I personally remember you and your group of friends spending your days with our food and cocktails on your private beach terrace during the full moon period of January.Thank you for your compliments on our accommodation and location.

Also, I agree to your comment regarding the level of service in our restaurant in that specific week.Every year during January especially the full moon week the resort has the highest occupancy from large numbers of our returning guests (in extra bed). It was a very fun and happy week to all of us including all our guests but this also drawn all energies from the staffs quickly. Some staffs didn't notice and control it but as a manager, I noticed and concerned. Some services were unable to delivered properly to our guests e.g. rooms service as there was not enough time or the smile that was missing from the face without intension.

I feel the need to give you sincere apologies on behalf of my staffs regarding this experience and I will ensure our staffs to keep the standard of services at high level at all time. We wish you can look over our mistake of this year and considering coming back to spend your vacation at Sarikantang again. This will give us a chance to prove that our team can do better :)

It was our second stay in Sarikantang and since they built new rooms we booked Deluxe Lanai. Well, it was new and clean. But someone really smart made the walls of plasterboard so that you could hear everything and I mean everything :-)) from the two adjoining rooms. Very funny if you are in a mood for it:-). Never again. The new pool is very nice but I in a week we stayed I have never seen anyone to even attempt cleaning it. Service in Sarikantang is virtually non-existent but we knew that so that was no problem. When you want good food you have to go to town. The breakfast included in the price is an improvement. The beach is excellent.

Thank you very much for your comments. We were all really happy to welcome you back as a returning guest in January this year.

It is a very interesting information to learn that some of our returning guests had similar opinion to you that the charm of being in the garden zone villa at our place is still what they preferred than in the building. We do understand this fact as that was the experience they had before and that is the reason they keep coming back each year.
However, many of them are also happy with the more sophisticated design, the bigger size, the modernity, and the higher standard of the rooms in the new building and the new swimming pool.

To compromise on both preferences, the villas in the garden zone have been redesigned and renovated during these past 2 years to offer more comfort and higher standard at the same level of the rooms in the new zone together with a more stylish design. This development should be completed within this year and we will be happy to serve the guests in the garden zone with more luxurious this year.

However, to share the correct information to our potential guests, the wall of the new rooms were built with double layered brick and pastered with concrete and not the gysump wall (the decoration wall is). There were rarely complaints from guests on the level of the noise between rooms. What happened during your stay might be an occasional problem which we never wish it to happen. We sincerely feel sorry for this experience.

We really hope you enjoy coming back each year to Sarikantang. A beachfront suite is also very recommended for your next stay as it's a single step to the sand. Please do not hesitate to contact us directly before your next booking to get more details of all rooms and to ensure your perfect vaction.
