“Above our expectations”

Sunset Cove

Four of us (47, 47, 24, 22) stayed for ten days, two in room A1, two in B8. Having read all the reviews on Sunset Cove before booking, we knew exactly what to expect, fantastic rooms, excellent service, beautiful beach, peace and quiet, and best of all, you are made to feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Most people that came for a few days extended their stay.

The staff really cannot do enough for you, from collecting you from the port, to booking trips, providing a taxi service anywhere, same day laundry service, waiter service anywhere, from room to sun bed to in pool and the restaurant.

The food is a good balance of Thai and European, so even the fussiest of eaters (our daughter) can be kept happy. The rooms are spacious and cleaned when ever you want, clean towels are plentiful, there are lots of sun beds surrounding the large clean pool.

Things that stick in you head, the staff remember what room you are in from the instant you book in. The large magic self-service drinks fridge that never seem to empty. The fresh fruit smoothies and shakes. The final bill which was accurate to the last can of coke, the fact that guests from all along the beach came to Sunset to relax and eat, there is nothing that was ever too much trouble for the staff. The number of restaurants and little shops within 5 minutes walk. Car hire man just down the road. Scuba Diving with a whale shark.

If you want to watch TV in your room, have loud thumping music, all night discos and drinking, restaurants with people trying to force you in to eat, loads of lights, noise and people, book elsewhere, this really isn’t the place for you.

Sunset cove is all about unwinding, relaxing and not having to care about anything more than whether you should have red or green curry for lunch.

We originally booked for 3 nights for the full moon party and stayed for 10 as we loved it so much here. Cant recommend it enough, the location is lovely with the beach; the pool and the amazing sunsets; the staff couldnt do enough to help us enjoy our holiday and were so friendly; the food was lovely and so cheap and the rooms were lovely also.
It really made our holiday, came from a 5 star resort in Phi Phi and Sunset Cove was just as good if not better. All in all, we will definitely be back there again as it was the most relaxing holiday ever; apart from our motorbike experience!!!!!!!!!!

While this resort is definitely value for money, in a pretty location and average on accounts, I really can't understand how it gets the number 1 rating in Koh Phangan unless all other hotels there are just terrible.

We just found the location to be terrible. Miles and miles from anything by jeep which we hired, no other good restaurants or buzz closeby unless we went to other resorts. Even though the full moon party was about to be on, I think if you are in your 20's or 30's and want some restaurants and other establishments wihtin walking distance then it is a much better idea to stay in Haad Rin. We wished we had stayed there as Sunset Cove was windy beyond imagination, making it impossible to swim in the sea or the pool. The sea is so shallow that it is not worth even trying to swim in, whereas the Haad Rin beach was stunning and sheltered.

Lovely people, OK, very average food in the restaurant. Everything is nice and new and it represents great value for money and a nice isolated, (but not really idyllic) location.

TV which only played DVDs in room with hard uncomfortable couch which forced us to lie on the floor while the wind howled and storm ensued. Just not a great place if you have to spend time in the room.

“Amazing stay!!!”

We were family of 3 adult couples, looking for a week of serenity and peace on the thai islands. After searching and researching the web (including here ofcourse), we found the SUNSET COVE and booked directly by emails. the responses were quick, super-friendly, and reliable. They picked us from the pier with 1 of their vans and went directly to the resort. we stayed exectly on the rooms we booked. they were beautifully lightly decorated, super convinient and with a perfect touch. the pool was amazing - coming very handy on the low tides. the beach around is quiet and beautifull with only 1 bar on the beach. around the aftrenoon its even possible to swim, during the day just deeping in and strolling around. the SUNSET COVE were amazingly efficient with all our requests, fast and mostly accurate. the breakfast is nice and big, food in the restoraunt is nice and decently priced, though too familiar with western tounge - we prefer it local and spicy. they were happy to drive us around to neighbouring beaches, or invited a taxi for more distant locations. After 2 couples left, we decided to stay just the 2 of us 3 more days at the cove. since it was fully booked, we were offered a perfect room that actually intented to serve the owner when travelling to the island. is was above the restraunt with great views of the sea.

overall a perfect stay for all 6 of us, with all variety of expections we had. thanx to BEN the manager, Ee, To, Kai and Tong for serving us with a huge caring smile !!! very very very recomended.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here in July for 8 nights, it was our first holiday away together. After spending a morning coming over from Koh Samui, setting foot in this place was a breath of fresh air. I can not recommend this place enough, the basic accommodation is excellent value for money, the staff are very friendly and will bend over backwards for your every need. I was once suffering a bit of sun stroke one evening and they event bought our dinner to our bungalow! At night you can sit in the bar area playing a game of cards, drinking beer and overlooking the sea at night. Perfect.

The pool is clean and views across the beach are stunning. The breakfast ( free) in the morning is great (pancakes, fresh fruit, toast, ham, eggs etc) is overlooking the sea. If we were to go back to this part of Thailand then we would love to stay at Sunset Cove again. The resort is also family and couple friendly.

We want to go back!
