“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Simply beautiful hotel, secluded location. we booked the hideaway pool villa & we weren't disappointed, the pool was huge! Staff were very friendly and attentive, service was fast.
For the size of the hotel the breakfast buffet was more than adequate & had a nice selection to suit every taste. Buffet dinners were fantastic as were À la carte items.

As it rained 2.5/4 days we were there we couldn't explore as much as we liked, however we were able to walk into town for some cheap massages at Tanaporn - which were excellent!

The main pool is enormous! plenty of lounges for everyone and you weren't all crammed up side by side. While we were there the beach was rubbish. It literally had rubbish and broken wood all in the water making it not possible to swim in. I'm not sure if this is the norm as we experienced storms while we were there & this could have been the cause.

The gym is small & old, walk around the resort instead. Remember to walk right up the back of the resort to take in the AMAZING views over the island & sea.

After 4 days of doing not much we were a tad bit bored, it would have been nice to have better weather so we could explore the island more. The resort felt really safe, it would be suitable for families as everything you need is right at your finger tips.

Tip: walk into town, everything is so much cheaper!! it's a short 5 min walk along the beach

Room Tip: Try a sea view pool villa - i think the views will be worth the extra cost. We had room 208 (i thin...

i recently stayed at the santhiya resort and i must say that the resort is absolutely outstanding. The hospitality and the ambiance is fantastic. We stayed at the hideaway pool villa , the rooms are spacious, clean and wonderfully done. The only flip side is the location , but once you make it to the resort it is worth every penny . Highly recommended

It's been a while since we stayed at Santhiya and with hindsight we had a great stay except for one disappointment. The hotel is really gorgeous and we enjoyed our huge villa with private pool. The decorations are superb even down to the smallest detail. We opted for the pricey speedboat transfer on arrival and were dropped off in Thong Sala town on our return. We preferred swimming on the larger beach instead of the hotel beach. After the complimentary shoulder massage we enjoyed an excellent spa treatment with the sound of the waves below. We had breakfast at the hotel but only one dinner...

Our only complaint was the private beach birthday dinner we reserved in advance. The setting was very romantic but the service was terrible. We felt abandoned with a very long wait between the starters and the mains. We asked several times about our food and were told they were busy. When the main dishes finally arrived they were not what we had ordered so we had to send them back and wait again. It really ruined a special occasion for which we had high expectations. I really recommend the hotel, but would advice against booking the private dinner unless they improve the food and service.

Room Tip: Splurge for the private pool villas

Absolute luxury for 8 days. The resort was magnificent. Rooms were fantastic and all details were well thought out. The service was impeccable, friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing every morning. A quick walk down the beach offered many options for dinner and lunch. I highly recommend "Baun Muay" for the best Thai food in the village. Service is always with a smile. From spring rolls to entrees each dish was fantastic. Must have had easily 5 meals there...I tried other restaurants and they just did not compare flavour- wise. Second alternative is the restaurant " Better than Sex". Great pizza and interesting and flavourful meals". Best Thai massages can be found at "Tanaporn" in the village.
The only room for improvement at the resort would be to provide feather pillows for sleeping.
Wonderful, restful and most relaxing stay.

Room Tip: I don't think there could be a bad room at this resort!

From Samui we took a speedboat to the resort. Santhiya is situated across a few acres of tropical forest. The sound of a gong greets you on arrival together with a complimentary drink. The villa is excellent. We have our very own swimming pool and bath.Rose petals were arranged on our bed to welcome us. For breakfast there was a huge spread and one could eat at the balcony with a spectacular view overlooking the bay.The service is superb, all the staff very polite and smiling. If you prefer to eat out there are eating joints along the beach with good price and quality. The beach is closed, private and is simply beautiful. Shuttle service is provided as its a good way from town. The price is a bit steep but overall a great resort.
