“CULT, Beware! Yikes !”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013 via mobile

These people have a reputation on the island for taking advantage of the young yoginis of the course. I've found many incongruencies and contradictions with their course. Often you'll overhear other patrons of agama quietly grumble in small groups, I found that when I approached and inquired more details of their disdain they would shush me or shun me.. Often afraid that I was "one of them" or that one of them was listening.

“great foundation of traditional yogic practise... (with flaws)”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

first level course is very good and helps all who attend...
so do the next 2 levels... after that the extra-curricular activites start
to interfere with the whole process...
I recommend to move on to somewhere else, eg. Ubud (Bali) or Chiang Mai...
for further spiritual development...

I have also watched the lives of many Agama students after they leave and have seen some major issues with this 'Cult' like environment.

Other yoga schools around the Gulf of Thailand and elsewhere benefit from post-Agama students who are often traumatised and in need of some serious rehab... the Agama method breaks down peoples values and rebuilds them into the people they want you to be...
so if you want to be a pee drinking, vegan, who eats twice a day and bless everyone you meet...

my advice: pass through, see it, and then leave... if you want the real thing head to an ashram in Southern India, after Agama's intro you'll be ready.

“Life changing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

coming here was a critical changing point in the direction of my life. I have learned an exceptional amount of teachings in the short time I was there and can see the deep spaces of vulnerability that can come up because of it. Which is not a bad thing yet can be quite challenging. Be aware that this is strong stuff and certianly not for everyone. yet if you choose to move beyond the barriers of the mind and heart, this is the place for you.

“Top yoga”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

This is a true form of yoga that can get you far if you re aspiration for self transformation is there, you ll have all the time to practice and receive teachings. Thats ideal and rare to find this combination , i came for the first month and since have been living in the island for the past 6 years. I really like my own independent practice and the support of the school at the same time. If you are serious about yoga , you will love it ...
