“This beach resort is amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

This beach resort is amazing! It is extremely relaxing, the staff is really nice and offered to take care of our valuables before we went to the black moon party, and one of them painted us with rave paint, it was awesome. Location is good and close to the local shops. This place is really amazing especially if you just want to relax and enjoy every second of your life!

1) Not touristy at all
2) Located on the beach
3) Staff really really helpful and nice, offered to paint us before the moon party
4) Food amazing, good prices
5) Rooms clean and good beds
6) Toilet was clean and nice

Room Tip: Choose the rooms, which are near the lobby that will give you access to the wifi.

If anyone would like a recommendation of where to stay on Koh Phangan, V-View Beach Resort would be mine! I don't really know where to start with this place... first off you are greeting upon arrival by the owner (a really helpful, down to earth and kind man who we called Mr Poss!). As there were 4 of us travelling we stayed in a larger bungalow with air con and the comfiest beds ever (great for passing out on after partying hard after full/half moon). The room was really clean and neat. We were also really impressed that Mr Poss had considered our security, having already had some money stolen earlier in the trip... Instead of the flimsy locks used in most hotels/hostels he has thick heavy duty padlocks for the doors, making us feel that our stuff (and ourselves!) was secure. He also offers to look after your valuables personally whilst the 'moon parties' are on.

The food and drink was incredible, and the 'Western' breakfasts are top notch for when you need a carb overload (I highly recommend the french toast!)... great rum & coconut shakes too!

The views from the beach (which are a few meters from the bungalows) are stunning, and there are plenty of hammocks in the shade for napping in. Lots of dogs hanging around but they are just chilling out in the shade most of the time.

Everything about this place was great, I highly recommend it and will definitely be returning in the future!

My boyfriend and I stayed here, it was our treat to ourselves after staying in hostels elsewhere. The bungalow we stayed in was great! It had a good hot shower, was clean and personal hammock hung on the porch for chilling out. We paid 800baht per night for a bungalow with a fan only as the nights cool off so there was no need for air conditioning (500baht extra a night) in mid March. We had one issue that impacted on our stay here, early every morning the staff made a lot of noise continually so ly-ins were not possible, which was frustrating as we were being woken up as if it was time to go to work on our long awaited holiday. But chilling out on the gorgeous beaches helped ease any frustrations! Just be aware that when booking online the owner does not use your card details to process payment, he will ask for a cash payment at the end of the stay. I did not know this would happen which caused confusion at the end of our stay as I thought we had already paid, another guest was also having the same decision. I have to say the Thai food at the resorts beach side restaurant was the best food we had on our holiday in Thailand, it was fantastic! The owner and staff were all pleasant and helpful throughout. Recommended to those who are good with early starts.

Room Tip: Try without air conditioning as it may not be needed and costs extra

I stayed in a deluxe bungalow with really nice wooden in- and exterior, air-con (didn't need it) and a very clean and cozy king size bed. Even the bathroom looks nice, was clean and the shower was warm. Except a gecko there where no animals in the room...I think. On the veranda there is a hammock, table and chair. The only things I was missing in the room (in regards to the room price) where a hairdryer and a TV or even better, an iPod stereo-system. On the other hand I can understand that a sound system might get victim of the full-moon crowd. ;)

The atmosphere outside is best described as "chilled" with hammocks at the beach and seat cushions in the lounge area. The food was top, especially for breakfast and lunch. Even the coffee is great. All this is served by the owner himself, a legend called POT. Everything is easy going at V-View - you don't even have to pay each time or tell your room number, he takes notes and you get the (correct) bill at the end of your stay.
You can easily hangout in the lounge area or at the beach whole day. Big plus: Internet in the lounge area is for free, no matter if you use the installed PC or your own device via WiFi. I have seen a lot of resorts in Thailand where Wifi either didn't work or you had to pay for the PC. Unfortunately there was no Wifi my own bungalow. This would be perfect to hangout on your own veranda, so you dont have to walk to the lounge for every single whatsapp message.

If you kitesurf, the V-View is half a mile away from the best kitesurf school on the island. You should go by scooter which you can rent at the resort as well. Had Rin is approximately 15 mins by scooter or taxi.

Room Tip: check the room before and decide if you need A/C or if a fan is sufficient. Fans rooms are approx. 1...

I am writing this review while am staying at the place......arrived here on 10/03.....booked in for 3 nites after reading few reviews about this place.......the resort is just 5-10 min drive from the pier.....just take the local taxi (100 baht / person)....we booked a bungalow(v3) with air con (around 1300 baht)considering the weather in Thailand.well worth every penny. Just 20 steps from the beach. Met the owner when we arrived.Mr pot gem of a person.....very down to earth....helps out with everything before u ask.bungalows are pretty basic but once u sit outside in the restaurant or the hammocks u would not want to go back inside.food in the restaurant is amazing...fresh and tasty and the best u could get on the island(personal recommendation being a chef) .would be definitely coming back.....just 15 min scooter ride away from party beaches........would love to keep writing about this place but you have to come here personally and check it out.....and am sure you won't be disappointed.......

I had a small bungalow for 1200 baht a night, with airc and a kingsize bed, bathroom was very nice and clean.

The owner is very friendly and tries to help you with questions, he also brought us to the pier.

The resort is situated a 20min walk from Thongsala pier, the sea at the resort is not deep.

Would definitly stay again !
