“Perfect shoestring Bungalow, 250bht per room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

I have been doing Thailand on a shoestring, with net on my tablet and a lonely planet on my back. The book led me to believe that in Ko Phangan you could find a private single room for a minimum of 300bht. I found this one for 250bht, in a very good zone (8km north the place where the ferry arrives), bungalows at 10 meters from the water, simple and small, for several prices. The 250bht one has everything I need and even more: king size bed to share it with someone and halve the price per head, washroom with warm water, fan and mosquito net on top of the bed.

The majority of the prices for the entire Island (and not just this one) start at 300 for accomodation, so it was nice to find this price. To get here, either you rent a bike anywhere or get a taxi for 100bht. The bungalows have internet (i didnt use as i have 3G, but i saw the routers) and a restaurant attached to the bungalows, where u can have meals for as cheap as 70bht.

We stayed at Benjamin's Hut for 4 nights in June 2013 in one of their budget bungalows, which are absolutely ok and good value for money. We especially enjoyed the very friendly staff and the excellent and nicely decorated food in their restaurant. Only negtaive point: The beach lacks good swimming since it has very shallow water inviting to sit rather than swim.

The food at this simple restaurant was among the best we ate in the whole of Thailand. The chef (actually from Lau) is a fantastic cook with dishes that had us drooling. The location is great, decking right on the beach, perfect spot for a sundowner.

Completely new flashpacker style AC bungalows for backpacker price! Friendly family run, with great kitchen and affordable prices.
We got Benjamin's flyer on arival at Ko Pangan pier, where we wanted to stay for 2 days. We left the 6.

We stayed here for 3 nights. We got a new modern fan room, really nice and clean for a good price. Everybody was super friendly and nice, great food, beautiful, quiet beach. It's a nice place to relax, and if you need a party it;s easy to get there with a taxi. (Don't try with a scooter as we did;-)Our best choice in our 3 weeks travel in Thailand.

We stayed here two nights while on our honeymoon. We loved every minute!
Our favorite part was the service. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and helpful. They really took the time to make us feel special.
The rooms were simple and very modern. We loved the front porch with a table and a hammock.
We ate at the small restaurant at the hotel several times. The food was very good! They also served yummy cocktails. The only bummer is that they don't include breakfast with the room.
We were there during the full moon party. The hotel is about 45 minutes from the party, but it was not a problem at all. The hotel staff arranged a shuttle for a reasonable price. Coming back from the party is easy, as group taxis wait outside with signs advertising which beach they are going to.
The beach isn't good for swimming, but it's very beautiful and secluded. The tide was out much of the day and there are big sea urchins and sharp coral, so we stayed out of the water most of the time. We had a great time sunbathing and walking on the beach.
I highly recommend this place!

We've just stayed here for 4 nights and the new bungalows (finished 2.5 months ago) are everything you want. Nice, clean and big and everything brand new! This was difinitely the best hotel we stayed in in Thailand. The beach is really beautiful and the restaurant is good as well. Staff is very friendly and with a motorbike you can get everywhere on the island! We would stay here again without any doubt. Thank you very much for the pleasant time!
