“Best breakfast on Koh Phanang”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2012

Went for breakfast in Haad Rin Granola and fruit was perfect. Chocolate croissant awesome. Proper espresso coffee. Bacon and egg sandwiches. Great break from the average American style breakfast you get at most cafes. Highly recommend for breakfast or a bakery snack .

“Nice Europe style place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

We visited this nice bakery twice. Very clean, Europe style interiour. Quite good variety of sweet pastries, warm apple tart was very good. Customer service was good, unfortunately second time when we visited here one waiter ran after us on the street and accused us for not paying the bill (billing was ok). We hope better communication between staff members, so that personnel would not first blame the customer.

“"founded 1985" - well, our cake was present at the grand openning”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

Atmosphere is nice; comfy chairs, old magazines, free WiFi. Service is lacking, we ordered an ice espresso and it came ultra-sweet. When we said we did not want any sugar in it we were lectured by both the waitress and the manager, saying that we needed to say in advance we do not want sugar in our coffee as "everyone likes it sweet" (this is cold espresso, not some frappe'). Eventually, and without much argument, they offered to replace it, but certainly made sure we felt that we are inconveniencing them.

The coffee itself is OK. The baked goods were stale, dry and OLD - they also look the part. We were there at 6PM, so maybe this is the reason (if they make them early).

Jakkra, Manager at Nira's Home Bakery, responded to this review, October 7, 2012
Dear Sir / our valuable customer ,
From your comments above , I found a report from our staff about your case and came to a conclusion that it became more likely to be a communication issue since we had a few trainees working on that shift. And also we did not have any manager on duty that day. But in this case , I as one of the manager at the restaurant , would take it very seriously even though it is our first complain that we've received in years especially at our main branch in Thongsala. Meaning, part of our training and service system will have to be improved immediately or in many ways. Me , as one of Nira's management team , all Nira's crew , and Nira herself would like to apologize for those issues that you mentioned earlier and will definitely take it as our highest priority for the improvements.
Thank you for your most valuable comments and please do not hesitate to contact us anytime in case of any further informations. Korb Koon Krab.

“Good place for breakfast on the pier”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Ideally located on the main road near Thongsala pier, Nira's Home Bakery is over 25 years of existence already, which makes it one of the oldest business on the island. The place is clean and their products always fresh. You can have all regular drinks and homemade bread, croissants and other pastries. The staff is very professional and always welcoming. This is the place to go before you take the boat. They open early in the morning but are closed in the evening.
