“Amazing place, amazing service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014 via mobile

I've stayed with my boyfriend for our holidays and I don't have anything to but that it was the best place I've ever been.
The rooms are clean with beautiful views, the perfect place to relax and forget about all your problems.
Bella, the owner, treats you as a part of your family and her food it's delicious.
The place it's situate next to the best beach in the island, full of cool bars by the beach.
All in all the perfect place to stay!

This was a real gem that we found...situated just a short walk from the beautiful haad yao beach which has the most stunning sunsets, gorgeous clear sand and water! The huts are up a small hill, but we are young and fit so not a problem, would be an issue for anyone with mobility problems though. When we got there we were offered a lower or higher hut, but the owner said the higher hut had lovely views, we were happy with this and went for the higher one...she was right, gorgeous views over the sea, watching the squid boats light up the sea each night and chilling in the hammock on your own personal bungalow.
We had a fan room without air con as travelling on a budget, but did exactly what it says on the tin, a large space for the price paid and good bathroom too. The air con rooms are the same just with air con instead of fan.

Ended up eating in here quite a bit, as we found the meals were excellent and good value for money...we especially loved the little chill out area, where you sat on bean bags and ate from small tables, a very laid back backpacker type vibe, which is exactly what we were looking for. The owner Bella is lovely, very friendly and helpful, as is her whole family who help about the place. I loved the fact that it was family run and you could see how hard they all worked. We made some friends there and they were just as enamoured with the place! We were very sad to leave and would definitely return, recommended all the way!

Room Tip: if you can hack the climb, get a higher room up the hill for an even more stunning view!

I stayed here with a group of 5 other travelers and we all fell in love with it! J.B. Hut is family owned and the lady is one of the nicest people you'll meet. The in-house restaurant and food is well worth the money and you're a 5 minute walk away form the beach, which has loads more eating options (although we found staying at the bungalow to eat proved to be tastier and cheaper in many cases). The common area is very relaxing and is a good place to meet other travelers. The rooms we stayed in at the top of the hill also had hammocks, which were a nice touch.

A only had a couple of issues, one being that the room had no air conditioning. It was deathly hot on the island while we were there and the room didn't offer much break from the heat. The washrooms were a bit dirty.

Overall though, I would highly recommend this place!

Loved our stay at JB huts, only came across it by chance as another nearby place messed up our bookings. The setting is enchanting on a hillside surrounded by nature and a view of the ocean.
They'll sort you out a moped for the same price per day as most one trip taxis! Definitely is by far the best way to see the island. And the couple that owned it are possibly THE most lively Thais I've met yet!

We stayed here for 3 nights last year and loved it.

Bella is such a lovely host and made us feel so welcome. The room was very basic, but this didn't make any difference to us. The location was ideal (although up a huge hill from the beach) and was a perfect pre/post full moon party retreat!

Bella provided us with transport to full moon and her spicy rice the day after helped our sore heads! Having read so much before we arrived about the food I can assure it didn't disappoint.

Would definitely recommend!

Great food, great price, clean bungalows! Bella is awesome. Can also help you arrange onward travel.

Also rented a scooter from JB hut for a reasonable rate.

We stayed here for a week in February 2014 and can't think of anything negative to say.

Beautiful relaxed beach with Haad Yao. Stayed at JB huts for 4 nights very nice a very clean and reasonably priced room. Fan clean sheets etc.

By far the best thing about it though is the food, even after moving to a hut on the beach me and companions kept returning for the food. The lady who runs it all is also a delight and will help you have a great stay at Haad Yao, local knowledge, taxi's etc.

Room Tip: A23 was the room I stayed in and enjoyed a nice view from the balcony. Occasional hammock swing time...
