The rooms were nice... but too far away from the full moon party.

The beach was beautiful but I kept getting wiffs of poop... We rented a scooter and hung out at Haad Rin beach which was much nicer and the place around Haad rin looked better too.

Stay closer to the party!

So myself and 2 friends booked online to stay here. The price seemed high but then, it was peak season so we thought it would be like that across the island.
The room (power bio bungalow) was gross. It was dark, damp and dirty. The bathroom, if you could call it that, had mould and a shower that barely worked. In fact, the shower broke when we were there and we could not turn it off. It took them two days to fix this! So we had a constant running shower for two days. I won't even go in to the amount of bugs in the bathroom. Or even the resort in general- the mosquitoes devour you at night and the flies pester you all day. I know this is Thailand but having travelled south east Asia for the last 3 months I have never experienced mosquito or flies like this. I think there is an infestation.
Breakfast, which was included, was also disgusting, covered in flies and I stayed away despite it being included in our room rate.
Anyway, after the disaster that was booking this place in the first instance, we found out from some other people who just turned up at the resort that their (same room as ours) rate was two thirds the price we paid! I mean 2000baht a night cheaper, not just a small amount. When we challenged this with the resort, the man got aggressive at us and told us it was the website's commission we booked through. 200% commission? Yeah right! It was a total scam by the resort and handled so badly.
Oh, and the beach is not kept clean, the sand is horrible. There are resorts next door to this one which I wished we had stayed in instead.
Just stay away, there are better deals on the island. Ignore the free transfer they offer at the pier to get you in. Horrible place, horrible people.

Power Beach Resort is located on the beach a short walk off the main road in Baan tai. The cottages are basic & few cottages face the sea. Has a decent sized restaurant & a small bar facing the beach. Pool/pool table, internet is available. u can book bikes or a boat trip around the island from here. to get to haad rind just walk to the main road & wait for the taxis which run by every few minutes. Getting back from Full moon party at any time of the night is no issue as taxis are available.

The staff are outstanding and bend over backwards to ensure that all guests enjoy their stay, there is ample opportunity to meet fellow full moon party goers in the communal areas as they have 3 pool tables and at least 12 tables with an on-site restaurant not to mention the 2 swimming pools, on-site bar and beach access.
The rooms themselves are basic but that perfectly suits the nature of Koh Pengang and there is on-site motorcycle hiring.

Overall, I'd recommend Power Beach to travelers who seek cheap, cheerful and fun accommodation that will give them a story to tell their friends.

So I ended up here for the Half Moon party in November. As far as that side of things it was perfect. Big area for socializing and they sorted us out for a taxi to and from the event.

Howrver the place itself had no charm, nothing special and some pretty basic rooms. I had to stay an extra night and was pretty over it by the end.

It wasn't that they did anything wrong, the millions of staff were nice and friendly. It was just a bit placid and soulless, but for 400BHT you can't really complain!

I ate at the restaurant next door every meal and the food there was amazing, definitely recommend!

We stayed here for the full moon party and I thought it was a really nice place actually. We upgraded to a deluxe ac room since we had just gotten to Thailand and hadn't quite acclimatized yet (translation: I was dying from the heat lol). The bed was horrible though; way too hard and it actually hurt my hip. And pretty sure it was just two single beds pushed together lol. We found a couple dead bugs in the room a few times but better dead than alive lol. However it was a pretty good location and if you rented a bike it was super easy to get to where ever you wanted. The best part for me was the friendly staff and the quite beach! I would stay here again.

A group of friends and I stayed here for the FMP in August this year. The beach and everything is beautiful. Great pools. You can stay in a deluxe room with AC but we stayed in the bungalows. Yes they are very hot but are cute and you really are not spending that much time in them if you are on holidays. It is away from the main street which is good if you want to get away from the comotion in Haad Rin. The taxi rides to and from Haad Rin are cheap and easy to catch. I really enjoyed the Power Beach Rsesort and have recommended it to friends heading over to Thailand.
