“Don't understand the bad reviews”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

Really not sure why this hotel has some really mixed reviews on Trip Advisor. The rooms are extremely clean, a great size, comfy beds, good shower and towels and sheets changed when wanted. The location is great... It's the last hotel on the beach which is nice. The pool had a great view and the food in the restaurant is good. The staff are nice, again this got negative reviews and all the staff were fine. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay here again!

I could not believe that middle in the jungle somebody would concider to have platic plants around the hotel. This is just one of the many "strange" things we just enjoied there. Fortunately we just booked one night. The place is great, very nice view! The hotel has no thai atmosphare at all. Rooms are ok buy more than over priced. Breakfast you shoud skip - as well as the restaurant. The receptionist is very polite and friendly - arriving there you get a "wellcome drink". A cup of water - sealed with a plastic foil.
Next time I'll take a 400 bath bungalow close by!

The "budget fan rooms" were really that - old bed with stained mattress; some lino flooring in the corner, but the rest just concrete & stained sheets. In the three days we were there our room was not cleaned once and towels not changed - the fan was a desk fan, tiny and not wall mounted giving nearly no relief from heat and to top it off a £20 equivalent deposit for room key... KEEP YOUR RECEIPT they will not give you your money back without it.

Food is abismal.. the breakfast is fine, bearable but i would eat at the other hotels on the beach for lunch/dinner - in particular The Centre Bar - the best thai food we had in the whole of thailand.

Pool/beach are good ; and the beach itself is stunning.. only other positive is free transfer TO the Full Moon however this is at 11 pm and you have to pay £5 for a return which is very hard to find at 6am among 10,000 other people!! not ideal and many people didn't even find the cab and had to pay extortionate amounts to get back to resort.

Stayed here a while ago when I went to get my PADI on Ko Phangan. I booked the hotel based on the professional pictures....As stated in many other reviews, those pictures look nothing like the real deal! The hotel might be cheap if booked early (especially during off-season) but the hotel is absolutely horrendous. The staff's English is poor to non-existent, the restaurant has the atmosphere of a football canteen, the rooms are dirty, bed sheets are thin and worn and the bathroom is a story in itself...My room (standard room) had a cheap electric shower. This doesn't have to be an issue, however the bathroom was absolutely filthy and a health hazard. I had gotten a blister from snorkeling and think I picked up some sort of infection in the bathroom....It took me months of doctor's visits to get rid of it...What was supposed to be a relaxed week off from work turned out to be quite exhausting as I didn't sleep very comfortably.
The only plus-side about this place was the pool area, which was passable (not great, but compared to the rest it looked clean and well-maintained...which wasn't hard to achieve given the horrible state of the rest of this hotel). Don't let this review however put you off to staying at this beach because there are some great places further up the beach with some nice (quiet) bars and restaurants at which you can experience the perfect sunset over the water. One of the places (about 100m from Haadlad) had one of the best seafood bbq menu's I have ever had for very very reasonable prices...They also had great and friendly staff....Will go back to Had Salad, but next time it will be at one of the other hotels!

Room Tip: One far, far away from this place

We've booked this Hotel from Agoda website for 3 days... the pictures seemed good, but the hotel is very old, the beach is beautiful, but the location of the hotel on the beach is not that good (at the very end). The management of the hotel is really bad... music is too loud (heavy metal at 8AM!!!), no flexibility at all, everything is complicated, the room is plastic (instead of wood!!!), the bathoroom is awful, old, really bad! The breakfast in the morning is awful as well... and the place is not that cheap, compared with the prices in Thailand.
If you want to choose Haad Salad beach (really beautiful) I would suggest to book at Haad Salad Villa, or Salad Hut or Green Papaya!

We stayed at this hotel 4 nights in December 2011, booked following recommendations from a friend. We had a double air conditioned room, that was nice, large and very clean! Breakfast is not great all we wanted was fresh fruits instead of the thai interpretation of american, continental breakfast. The swimming pool is Ok, not very big. Overall I would say that its an average place but I think the price was very reasonable. There are a number of other nicer looking hotels on this beach not sure about the price though. Would I go back? Probably, especially with kids and if I have a small budget. One more thing: the tourist advice at the reception is very unreliable! We asked for advice a couple of times and none of the info we were given was correct!
