“Relaxing ....... but a bit out of the way”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

We spent 5 nights in one of the cheaper huts (Viewpoint hut) in June, we might have stayed longer but on 1st July the rates almost doubled!

The rooms were basic but adequate, certainly not luxurious. Our hut was elevated so involved climbing steps but at least we had a good view of the sea.

The gardens and beach were kept extremely clean. If you like to swim you have to wade out a fair distance as the water is very shallow but suitable for families with small children. The beach is very secluded and deck chairs are supplied for guests use.

The negatives about this accommodation - our air conditioning had problems, on 2 occasions it decided to drip in the middle of the night which kept us awake, however it did appear to get fixed once we reported it.

A big negative would be that there are no supermarkets nearby so if you want to buy a bottle of water you have to buy it from the hotel bar. The nearest shop was in Thongsala where the ferry boats come in, which involved a 30 minute walk.

We ate at the restaurant most nights, the food was reasonable priced and well prepared.

The staff whilst they spoke limited English (a lot more English than my Thai) were helpful and booked our taxi and return ferry ticket for us.

All in all we enjoyed our stay at Sabai Beach resort.

The bungalows are really nice, and the staff are really helpful (helped us book and rebook a train). Quite far from town, a short drive from Thongsala and Haad Rin, but this is nice being so far from everything. Easy to flag down a taxi van tho. Nice sunsets to be seen from the beach. Food is basic, but not expensive.

Room Tip: Beachfront bungalows are great!

Surely one of the best places to stay on Koh Phangan. Accomodation clean and charming, set in spacious grounds right on a picturesque beach. Staff could have been more attentive. The restaurant left us cold so we didnt eat there- can't comment on the food. But overall amazing value and an enjoyable stay. Head to Ando Loco for the best mexican outside of mexico!

Room Tip: Close to the sea, but the garden and sea view were great too!

This is my favorite place I have ever stayed in my life and also the most inexpensive. We had initially planned to stay just a few days and move on, but we fell so in love with it, we just didnt leave and stayed a week. As a matter of fact, the hardest decision we made every day was just deciding whether we were going to leave the resort at all. We would start with good intentions, but by the time breakfast was over, we would just move onto our little sliver of beach paradise and stay for the day reading, napping and drinking from coconuts. The food was absolutely incredible - some of the best of entire trip in Thailand. The rooms are right on the beach and inexpensive enough that my friend and I each had our own. Most nights I slept with the doors open and the sound of the waves washing up on shore. Absolutely perfect. Cant wait to find my way back here!

This resort was my favourite of our time in Thailand. Rooms were inexpensive and big. Right on the beach and you can rent a scooter from the hotel which is a must to see all of Koh Phangan. They don't rip you off either which we were worried about. Private beach which is cleaned daily and it's a family run hotel which is nice. Very happy with our stay here and will definitely return!

From start to finish, our stay at Sabai Beach Resort was fantastic! The resort is a 5-10 minute scooter ride to Thongsala. Everything on the island was easy to get to on the scooter, which we rented from the resort. We stayed in the beach bungalow, which was perfect for us! Our favorite part was the deck outside our room, which had 2 chairs on it. The view of the sunset was amazing from these chairs! The beach is wonderful to look at and is good for taking a quick swim in the evenings, but in the day the water is quite shallow.

The only slight snag we had came from renting the scooter, but it was handled perfectly by the staff. Apparently one of the stickers on our scooter was showing some damage when we returned it, but the manager told us it was no big deal! You might want to take pictures and carefully inspect the scooter before leaving the resort. Also, I would not recommend renting the scooter unless you are somewhat experienced. There are a lot of hills and potholes that could be very dangerous.

This was our favorite place to stay on the islands!

Despite the poor overcast weather, this little place feels like paradise.
We stayed in one of the beach front bungalows, and having the sandy beach right at your door step is amazing.
The bungalows are simple, but modern and very clean.
The staff were up at 7 in the morning cleaning the beach of all the seedweed from the tide, (going that extra mile)
Water stopped working on the second night but was fixed in 20mins.
Staff are lovely and friendly and willing to help the best they can.
Would definitely come back!
