We spent 5 nights in one of the cheaper huts (Viewpoint hut) in June, we might have stayed longer but on 1st July the rates almost doubled!
The rooms were basic but adequate, certainly not luxurious. Our hut was elevated so involved climbing steps but at least we had a good view of the sea.
The gardens and beach were kept extremely clean. If you like to swim you have to wade out a fair distance as the water is very shallow but suitable for families with small children. The beach is very secluded and deck chairs are supplied for guests use.
The negatives about this accommodation - our air conditioning had problems, on 2 occasions it decided to drip in the middle of the night which kept us awake, however it did appear to get fixed once we reported it.
A big negative would be that there are no supermarkets nearby so if you want to buy a bottle of water you have to buy it from the hotel bar. The nearest shop was in Thongsala where the ferry boats come in, which involved a 30 minute walk.
We ate at the restaurant most nights, the food was reasonable priced and well prepared.
The staff whilst they spoke limited English (a lot more English than my Thai) were helpful and booked our taxi and return ferry ticket for us.
All in all we enjoyed our stay at Sabai Beach resort.
