Honeymoon part 2: (we started our honeymoon with 1 night on Koh Samui and then 4 nights at Longtail Beach Resort (also on Koh Phangan)) We thoroughly enjoyed the north-east side of the island at Longtail Beach Resort....yet also equally loved our stay at Cookies Salad! Our room was INCREDIBLE with views over the gorgeous turquoise waters. Walked along the beach many times. Enjoyed happy-our at Cookies Salad. Such HELPFUL and friendly staff. Thank you, Aom for a GREAT honeymoon and a fabulous stay. We LOVED cookies salad resort!!! (Didn't even use the pool since the ocean was AMAZING! But the pool looked great!) Feel free to email anytime with questions. (Hard bed, but that is the same everywhere we were in Thailand, so...."oh well" !)

Room Tip: I think a LOT of rooms have an AMAZING view! If possible, go for a room not too high, otherwise you...

Brilliant hotel with fantastic large room which have open balconies with mini double beds and hammocks on so that you can watch the sunset over the beach and mountains.

The resort is remote but there are other hotels lining the beach which have restaurants there are a few small shops and boat trips run from the beach so you dont feel completely isolated. You can also hire mopeds if you dare take on the steep dust roads of the island. The food in the restaurant for all meal times was excellent and we really enjoyed our stay here.

If you want to come for full moon partys but dont want to stay in Haad Rin then there was a taxi service to and from the party at Haat Salad.

The pool and slide were adequate when you were by such a lovely beach and the sea was great with good snorkeling

We booked in for standard room after staying in the room for just one hour we were absolutely depressed with the number of ants and insects and bugs - spiders all over the place.
There was a strange damp smell as well as termites in the cupboard.

We spoke to the reception and were moved to a bungalow of course we had to pay for the upgrade ourselves. Additional 400 THB.

The bungalows were better but still had many short comings - ants(though a lot lesser), too dark and dingy bathroom, in d middle of foliage . so we decided to check out the next day and move next door to the Salad Buri resort for which we got a standard room for the price of the bungalow. Moving to Salad Buri made our stay memorable and very enjoyable.

The great thing about cookies was that they had an amazing and smiling staff and were very patient throughout our problems..

We really liked staying here, we had a bungalow with seaview with a stunning beachview and a hammock. The bungalow was also quite tidy although never leave any food in your room, because the place fills up with ants in no time! Service at the resort restaurant was very friendly, the food was fine and I would definatly recommend their smoothies, which are very delicious! You can also borrow DVD's for free (every room has a TV + DVD player), but we only figured that out on our last days of our stay :)
The resort is kind of half up the mountain, so you have to walk a bit up and down the stairs, but the view from the rooms is absolutely worth it!

Room Tip: Seaview hut, try to get the one right above the restaurant, then you don't have to walk that muc...

We didn't stay in the rooms, as we had booked another resort but came to Cookies everyday for lunch and dinner and often breakfast, and used the facilities. From glimpses we caught of the rooms, they looked beautiful. We are just booking to come and stay here in September when I saw their reviews and felt we should say that we thought the people that run the place were amazing, friendly as can be and they worked tirelessly looking after the place and guests impeccably. The breakfast was amazing value. We thought all the food was fantastic. The atmosphere is lovely and place is beautiful. I guess if you come in high season, you can expect noisy kids anywhere. Go in low season to avoid that..... Also, if you don't want to wait for your food, go in quiet season. These guys do an amazing job. I work in a similar industry and know it is hard to provide perfect service to everyone all the time but I think they've got as good a chance of offering that as anywhere else in the world. We love Cookies!

My boyfriend and I spend 12 nights at Cookies this August, and we sooo fell in love with the place! We had room no. 14 and highly recommend it - the view is absolutely stunning and breathtaking!

The place has it's faults, but none that effected our stay in any way.

The service at Cookies is great - not flawless, but great! The staff are always smiling and ready to help. Sometimes they missed an order or two, but it really wasn't a problem - we're on holiday right? No rush and no worries :)
The restaurant was probably the nicest we saw on the island (and we did get around a lot) - the atmosphere is so relaxed and we really enjoyed spending time there in the evenings having a beer or one of the great smoothies! The food is also pretty good, although we did enjoy the food at Salad Hut about halfway down the beach a little more :)
Breakfast at Cookies is okay.

We only saw our own room (14), but I can only recommend it! It was spacious, clean (never saw a bug there other than a few ants now and then), the bed was big and comfortable, the bathroom really nice and the rainshower was really good! We could have used a few more shelves and storage for clothes since we spend so many nights and had a lot of clothes with us, but it worked out just fine anyways.
The balcony is... not to be described in words. We just loved sitting out there in the mornings, watching the sun come up over the mountains - so beautiful. And later in the day, we would sit and watch the bay as the water came all the way up. When the dark came, we loved the view of all the restaurants and their lights.

Cookies is located on a pretty steep hill and that means you have to climb a little to get to your room, depending on what room you get. We had the one with the hardest climb I think, because there was also a steep climb of stairs after the hill - but honestly, you really have to be in the worst shape possible to consider this a problem! I smoke and is not in good shape at all, but the climb was not too much. Sure it had our hearts pounding a little harder, but it can hardly be categorized as a workout ;)
The beach is a lot better than I expected. Right next to Cookies it wasn't really that good, but we just walked a 100 meters longer and then it was beautiful.
Water is pretty shallow in the morning and up until 2-3 pm. but then it's just fine for swimming and snorkling. At least this was the deal in the beginning of august, but actually the water came in earlier every day...

We rented a motorbike at Cookies, and even though the roads aren't exactly good, they're okay if you're just carefull. It worked out fine for us and we haven't been on a bike in like 10 years ;)

The thing with Cookies is... It's got soul. You can't buy that for money. So the little problems, the little faults and the ocationally forgotten orders, just doesn't matter. Not to us anyways - we came there to relax, and have a good time, and that's what we got.
