“A few steps from the beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012 via mobile

Our bungalow was an average one (800 bath) and the bed a bit hard but if you can afford to spend more you will receive 5 stars treatment!!! The manager Kaz is very nice and friendly and the owner Mr Toy is the most honest person i have ever met!!! The bungalows are located on one of the most beautiful beach in Ko Lanta and the personnel always smile!!!! One weak point only: the cook is not that good but all the rest is perfect!!!

3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

I booked here upon recommendation of the owner of 'the Retreat' where I was taking a meditation and yoga course. Convenience was important for those 5 a.m. Classes and this was right beside the sala. I had agreed to pay 1500 baht per night which was 'high' season rate for a 'sea view' bungalow since a friend had recommended them over the older, garden bungalows. I arrived to find that I was the only guest in the place and it looked like the entire place was just being reopened for the season .... No kitchen/restaurant nor bar was open. Lots of cleaning and hanging of art and prepping the place for what I was told by the locals, would be the arrival of the tourists in a couple of weeks. My room was fine .... Musty smell ... And a sea view was only possible if you sat on the front deck and looked past the other units. This unit faced the bar, not the sea. I found the location beautiful, the beach spectacular and the couple of staff there delightful. What irked me was paying 'high season' rates when clearly this resort and the entire island were clearly still in low season mode. I'd have no issue paying the price I agreed to if it was in fact high season, there were other guests besides me, (one other guest checked in on my second last night ... A walk in off the beach) the kitchen and bar were open and my room was cleaned more than twice in 7 days. A bit of honesty in their seasonal rate system dates would go a long way to help.

We arrived after spending on night in Khlong Klong and made our way through Klong Dao this was the best place we found in terms of value for money and location. The staff were friendly although some staff did struggle a little with english but it didn't cause a problem. We looked at air conditioning and fan rooms and as we are on a budget went for a fan room. The room was large, clean and I loved the wacky decoration. Not the ritz but not ritz prices. We paid 700 baht which is around 14GBP and we were more than happy. The restaurant was great with beautiful views.

as we found it over priced for the shabby rooms, humid and a bit stinky...and the service...there was nothing like service....noone spoke English, no one had any truthful information, the only one speaking English was the manager, who was all the time dealing with complaints (understandably) and took time to get to our complaints:)
And the truth is there are so much nicer and cheaper places with the same location (like Diamond Sand Palace) where we moved later. So do not be mistaken by the Artistic touch of these bungalows...

This is a nice place for the semi budget conscious. Unlike many of the budget bungalows, Cha Ba is located RIGHT ON the beach. Although the bungalows are not beach facing, the restaurant is. The place has great energy and friendly staff that speak excellent English. Located on Klong Dao Beach on Lanta Island which is suitable for families with young children. I took the Bungalow with Fan and attached bathroom/shower for 900 Bhat per night (Peak Season price). Comes with a double bed, mosquito netting, fan. No water heater for the Fan room we got. Very clean!
