“Not coming again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

We regretted our booking already when we arrived. Hotel entrance and reception/restaurant all look very old and are in need of renovation. It's like arriving at someone's back yard.
The hotel staff and gentleman at travel agency were all very kind and helpful. Other positive things were beautiful pool and nice green area by the beach.
I didn't like the location at all because it's a long way to Saladan and other restaurants. Also the beach was muddy most of the time because of the tides.
Our family room was so ugly and old that I could never consider staying there again. Bathroom had a terrible smell. We paid about 100€ per night and it was definitely not worth the money.
Breakfast was very basic.

the location was great, staff very friendly and helpful with anything from booking tours to getting extra pillows.Disappointed that bungalows did not have kettle to make hot drinks, as it was advertised with such. WI Fi is only available around reception area and difficult to connect to. The whole resort could do with a bit of maintenance but overall we had no big issues.Restaurant food is very nice but limited, we ate in town each night. breakfast was same everyday and limited but they are happy to make you what ever if ask. The beach is clean, long stretches and good easy walking, water calm and warm great for younger children but beware of sea urchins when tide is way out, hire snorkels, canoes ect from hotel. You can walk up beach and hire paddle boards and other water stuff from beach shops or other hotels. The main town area is 1/2 hr walk or tuk tuk ride, has cheap markets nice clean food, we hired scooters (200baht day)and saw most of island with no hassles and at our own pace, locals all very helpful ,especially with crazy tourist on scooters. Canoeing around islands was great, emerald cave is too touristy now but still fun, 2 butterfly parks one is disgusting and is near the fish farms. I stayed with 3 children 12yrs -23, no dramas they all loved the island and we would all return, relaxing, clean and friendly place.

Room Tip: all rooms looked good. dated but sufficient for time spent in them.

The location of the hotel, in front of a beautiful and calm beach, is its best asset. The pool is good and could be perfect if it had its lights on during the evening, at least during using hours. In general, the hotel lacks maintenance and it seems that it used to be a very decent place. Nowadays, however, it just look old. It could be no major issue if we didn't find the bathroom so dirty and greasy we didn't want to touch the sink. The aircon stopped working during one night and the manager suggested that if they couldn't fix it we would have to pay more to change rooms. They eventually make it work again, but I didn't like the attitude.

Firstly, DON'T book this by a walk in,they charge much more at reception than if you shop around online and book. What a scam!
Place is a bit run down,we had a top of the range, front line beach bungalow....NO d.v.d.player,satellite t.v.? Maybe a Russian rogue sattelite took their particular satellite out of orbit, crap reception of just a few channels, none in English. English is the main tourist language in Thailand, the industry here needs to reflect this with their t.v. channels in hotels/resorts surely?
Our bungalow decor was sad, needed painting and upgrading,as does all public areas too. We attempted to dine in their restaraunt on one evening, one of only two meals ordered never appeared, and they were not very busy! That place badly requires an active supervisor to keep an eye on the very young staff there.
Pool and gardens are lovely,as is the beach the resort is situated on.
"Ko Lantas only Coral Reef on our beach"? Well maybe, but it's also an ex Coral Reef, quite dead and very little fish life, lots of HUGE Sea urchins though so beware.
The inclusive breakfast? Not good, and the most miserable, unfriendly, snarling ommelett cook on the planet!
All in all,not good value for what you get,and no wifi in bungalows, must be the only place in Thailand without it.

Room Tip: Front line bungalows views are great. Upgrade needed on decor though.

This resort has seen better days.
It would need some major renovations to bring it up to todays standards, starting with the bathroom which was very smelly, taps and shower malfunctioning, towels paper thin.
No phone in room. Gardens around bungalow weedy and neglected.
Pool was nice but had algae growing on the tiles. Buffet breakfast OK, but very basic and boring. There is the smell of sewer/drains outside which one would fully expect in any Thai town but not in a tourist resort.
Very limited scuttle transport to town available, so for return to the resort you must rely on tricycles which have this scam going to charge 100 Baht for a 2 km or so trip
Plus points: very friendly staff and resort restaurant meals, although limited choice, good value for money. Location right on the beach.
Although their rates are somewhat lower than most other resorts, having come all this way I'd gladly pay a few dollars more for something very much better.
We will not stay here again !!

we spent here 4 nights in late Jan 2014.
positives:
lovely beach! it is the last resort on the Northern part of the beach; so far from the crowd
nice garden with coco nut and pine trees; huge area to chill out, if you dont like to spend your day under the sun
nice swimming pool
nice and very helpful staff
food is also ok; not the best, but fine

negatives;
the room! we stayed in a bungalow where we paid about 45 eur/night. It looked very dirty and old. we booked the place via booking.com where the pictures showed different/nicer rooms. The deal breaker was the bathroom; ceramics on the wall and the tabs were dark of the dirt. it looked like the place was built 20 years ago and no maintenance was done after. We did not expect any luxury, but just the basics; a clean place to stay. i think cleaning is only about making the beds, and changing the towels in Thailand.
Buffet breakfast vas very basic
it was full of mosquitos, but I guess that It is normal in Thailand...

We booked a front line, modern family villa. Fantastic view over the beach and sea. Good clean large room with perfectly fine shower room ., Extra bed for child. Flat screen tv, aircon.
Breakfast ok, could be better presented but all the usual foods were there. Swimming pool was great, with a jacuzzi feature and a small waterfall/shower thingy. We had stayed 1 night next door, which was double the price, smaller and dirty so we were SO happy to be here.
Lunch was a reasonably priced pad thai. Good cocktails, lovely lovely staff
In all, we loved it. I would splash out and go front line however as the view was the highlight.
Go eat at Focus, the restaurant next door
Positive for us, was that this hotel was at the far end of beach, hence quieter away from the crowds

Room Tip: Frontline, splash out!
