Worn off resort with bungalows which are generally bunkers with air con. Just couple of bungalows can be called "beach side", but its not far from the beach anyway - probably minute from everywhere in the resort. Its really quiet there, just usual couple of screaming kids in the pool. Room keeping works only if you give keys back to reception, which is kind of stupid. The breakfast there is biggest joke ever. for 150bht you get 2 eggs, 2 slices of ham 2 slices of bread and orange juice OR fresh fruit + two slices of cucumber. For everything else you have to pay extra. Staff is friendly and generally competent. Next door on the beach is Indiano Bar, probably best bar on north of the island.

Very disappointing hotel. The resort & grounds looked like it could have been nice years ago but it has not been maintained at all. The bungalows are shabby & old, the beds are lumpy, the sheets were worn out & stained and when we asked the staff to change them, they wouldn't. The towels were dirty and we had to pay if we wanted beach towels. The location is somewhat close to town (about a 1/2 hour walk). The staff was horrible - very unfriendly. The place reminded us of a horror movie. We checked out of the hotel after the 1st night, even though we were prepaid for 3 nights. We moved to the Amantra resort on the south side of the island which was pure luxury!!

We went to Ko Lanta because we wanted some quiet beach time. The resort we stayed was very nice and not too expensive. The Hotel staff was helpful and spoke good english ( some even better than me ).

The resort is directly located at the beach, and walking from the farest room would take maximum of 1 minute. The rooms are nice roomy with airconditioning and private toilet and shower.

The resort has an tailor, diving center and a massage salon right on the beach. And the beach beds are also free.

We stayed at Lanta Island Resort for 8 nights. This resort has a great location on the nice stretch of Klong Dao Beach (i.e. no rocks). The staff were always pleasant. And that's about the only thing going for it. We found the restaurant mediocre, breakfast was not included and food otherwise expensive for what you get compared to other beach front places. The room was VERY basic. The rooms are cleaned and clean towels issued daily, only after you hand your key and are happy to remember everything you need for the day and return to you room later. There was no safe for our valuables and just a simple lock on the door. There are merely holes in the bathroom walls for ventilation instead of an extraction fan or similar. We had to burn mosquito coils in there each night to kill off the bugs and the smell. The air con was fine, not too much noise. The pool was clean but full of kids every day. The resort desperately needs a makeover. The photos on other websites are decieving. I felt it was very overpriced for the standard of the room and access to the beach. there are NO beach bungalows despite their claim, sure, you can walk to the beach from each of the bungalows but they are certainly NOT beachfront. i should have been mindful when we had to pay the entire cost of the stay upfront, which let us unable to change after one night. I can confidently say I wouldn't stay here again as I now know there are cheaper places for better quality.

Staying there 2w at the end of December 2008 in bungalow delux 2.
Budget resort in the middle of Klong Dao beach.
Cleaning on demand = leave key in reception and they cleen your room.
Bungalow as expected for this price 1300THB.
VERY friendly staff. Restaurang "higher level" food for reasonably price compared with another hotels there (but there are restaurants in Saladan with superb food and low low price)
- few sunbeds on beach (at least 10 more needed)
- many swedish people at Koh Lanta = another rules then usualy
Will I choose this resort again?
Yes, because of staff and price.

I liked the hotel, the grounds and I think the restaurant was one of the nicest and busiest in the area. The staff was friendly and fun, the beach was beautiful, and the pool was clean.

The rooms were large. I was in a standard room (no TV), but it had a fridge and good a/c. I had no problems with the washroom as reported by others. The room was clean and maintained every day provided you left your key at the front desk. The safe was at the front desk - it closed at 10 p.m. and opened at 7.30 a.m.

I loved this resort and the easy atmosphere was enjoyed by all the guests staying there. I would definately recommend this resort and would return there myself. Nice place.

  • Liked — Friendly staff - kudos. The restaurant, and the beach.
  • Disliked — Koh lanta was pricer than I thought, but this was decent value for money.

We came to Koh Lanta midway through our three week trip to Thailand, wanting a place to just chill for a few days. Our bungalow had TV and a fridge and was a very short walk to the beach. No internet but at the end of their driveway on the main road was a Kodak store with a fast connection and a laundry next door (B30 per kilogram)

The food was good and reasonably priced for a resort on an island. We loved the girls working in the restaurant, always friendly and smiling.

The resort itself is rather basic but we thought that it was a good value for Koh Lanta.

  • Liked — peaceful location, restaurant staff
  • Disliked — We felt "stuck" at times, it's hard to get around the island if you don't rent a motorbike
