Koh lanta is nowdays known as the Swedish island of Thailand and this resort was no exeption.
Everywhere we turned we heard people speaking Swedish and the pool was crowded with Swedish children.
Enough said about that.
We booked 3 villas for 3 nights and was really dissapointed about the standard.
They put us close to the beach where you by the way cant swim, you have to walk pretty long to avoid cliffs and longtailboats.
The rooms where wery worn down and badly cleaned.
Windows full of hand and fingerprints showing that they were cleaned for about half a year ago.
In my shower the floor was covered with sand from the beach that someone before me left behind.
Aircon was wery loud and impossible to operate.
Im just happy that it was in this resort we all had Thaistomacks (after our first meal in the rest) and not in a nicer place.
Breakfast was worthless too.
I will nev ever go back here and wouldnt rekommend it to my worst enemy.

Room Tip: Google: Relax bay :)

I can strongly recomend Holiday villa hotel. We lived in a pool villa which consisted of a bed room and a "living room" plus a very big bath room plus a nice terrce with sun protection outside the villa. The beds are a little bit hard but not worse than in any other place. The rooms are not luxurious but they do hava a minibar with very decent prices and it is cosy.

Three things make this hotel very good. Prices, service and pool area. In my opinion you get much value for money both with regards to the price for the room but also the prices in the restaurants. The pool area is excellent, there is one bigger pool for adults and a smaller pool with a water slide for younger kids. If you wish to take a bath in the sea then the hotel is located on the beach so you can go directly into the ocean. The services is though what really makes this hotel good, the lady that owns the hotel is very service minded, the staff has been properly trained and is very nice. I have stayed in some hotels in Thailand where the thai staff is very uninterested and don't care, that is NOT the case here. All staff, from driver to restaurant staff are pleasant and give good service.

The only thing I would like to improve is the option to get extra towels in the swimming area and that the cleaners would look more carefully to see if schampoo etc needs to be replaced.

Room Tip: If you are a family choose a villa close to the pool. IF you are a romantic couple choose a villa wi...

We went for nearly one week at Koh Lanta and a stay at Holiday Villa. Our 10 year old boy loved the waterslides. We went there over the peak for high season and allthough the hotel was full booked it didnt felt crowded.
We stayed in a bungalow in the pool area wich I can recommend. all though more than 4 people do not fit in the bungalow, but for us with a one year old in a cradle beside our bed in the bedroom, and our 10 year old in a bed sofa in the livingroom it was perfect.
The terace made it possible to stay outdoors, while the little one was sleeping inside with the AC turned on. The mosquitos made it hard to have here sleeoing outdoors even during daytime.
The employees at the hotelrestaurant and poolarea were very friendly and serviceminded. The cleaning staf had limited english knowledge.

The only thing I may complain about is the cleaning in the bathroom. The empty shampoo bottles were left after the cleaning...
The location at the beach are nice, but the beach is not that clean as we scandinaves want it to be. It still is a nice long beach and its perfect for toodlers to stroll around.
Close to the Holiday Vila is a scandinavian place called Slow down and there we had the best steak, and skagen toast since we relocated to Bangkok...nearly a year ago.
At the Holiday Vila the breakfast was good. And the food is okey, regular thaifood but good thai food.
We will ceartainly return to Holiday Vila.

This was one of the strangest places we've visited. It is a large resort with over 50 units that were a mix of traditional Thai bungalows and newer hotel-style rooms. There were three pools, two down near the restaurant and one up near the main road. Both of the lower pools had great waterslides, which the kids really liked. We stayed in one of the newer, hotel-style rooms and had them put in an extra bed. So with 4 it was a tight fit but we managed it for about 8 nights at $65 per night including breakfast, which was a good deal. The bathroom was clean and the tv reception good with a selection of channels in various languages. What was strange about this place was that it was empty. I mean totally empty. When we arrived there was one other couple there. Other people floated in and out but it was eerily quiet compared to other places in the area. Nonetheless the staff were friendly, though they had almost nothing to do most of the time and their English was limited. There was a lot of construction work going on with tradespeople there everyday so perhaps they were getting ready for the high season? The lack of people made us wonder, exactly, how the place stayed alive. But we didn't ask too many questions. The beach was not very good (somewhat dirty) though the waves were gentle and it was shallow so it would be good for young children. There were fishing boats moored right next to the complex, which again made us wonder to ourselves about what was really going on. The eating options out on the main road are limited, but if you walk down the beach at night there are numerous beachside restaurants. It is also a quick trip to town as well. The restaurant at the hotel is poor. The breakfast is okay but rather standard and bland. Overall, a good stay if you like a quiet place with few people and are looking for a good deal.

Room Tip: Get a room or bungalow down the hill by the beach. Every few nights the 'Guitar Bar' across...

It was a very nice resort it it was empty my friends and I were the only guest at the hotel. Employees were friendly but limited English, we were glad we only stayed a night. It's better if u book your stay at phi phi. If u go make sure to get a motorbike don't pay no more than 200 baths.

An average resort. The staff (are nice but) speaks little English but a friendly. The food is really not good so eat somewhere else. An empty restaurant at night tells you, that you might seek elsewhere for good food. And the breakfast buffet is below average. We recommend you Also go a few minutes down the beach to eat at Slow Down or Green Lime (just next door).Location is on the beach near rocks and fishing place. You need to go 5 minutes down the beach to swim. The family beach bungalow is good. Is provides space and is ok value for money. The rooms are clean and the view is lovely. We had the villa in the back which also had a small garden outside. The pool areas was ok for the big children (age 8 and 11). We would not go back to this resort - also there was a lot of noise from a nearby disco or something which bothered our sleep. So al in all - we would go back to Lanta but definately stay somewhere else.

We found this resort by accident as the one we were booked into on another part of the island didn't work out. Because of this, I had to quickly look at a local map of hotels and then started emailing each one. Within a few hours, the staff at Holiday Villa emailed me back and was happy to show me around that evening. Great customer service at the front desk and those that helped us in our room.

On short notice that evening, we looked at two types of accomodation. The first were two huge connecting rooms in the back of the resort. The other was a bungalow right beside the pool and we choose this one as we could fit our entire family in using a couch bed and two single beds. The main bedroom was large and had a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was huge and the first one of all the hotels in Thailand that had a bathtub. For the money, we had one of our best experiences. There are many villas, while ours was right by the pool and we liked that for our children, there are several that face the water and on a quiet part of the beach.

There are two clean pools at the resort, a large one good for swimming in and a smaller one that essentially is there for a large waterslide. My children had the best time using that slide!

There is a restaurant right by the pool where we had breakfast buffet each morning (very good) and then lunch. There is also a place to each by the beach. What I liked about this resort is that it didn't feel crowded even though it was very full. For example, we always found chairs by the pools.

The only negative is that if you want to have a beach, you don't really have one right in front of the resort but will find a good spot just a five minute walk down the beach.

This resort is also on one of the best beaches in Koh Lanta with plenty of good restaurants for evening dinner just a 5 or 10 minute walk down the beach.

When in Koh Lanta again, this resort is at the top of our list to go back to.
