beautiful resort, attentive customer service, great value, unbeatable scenery....absolutely nothing to complain about. My wife and I stayed here for 6 days, and everyday was a true enjoyment. The entire hotel atmosphere is perfect for couples, and we truly enjoyed the spa treatment in the hotel, great C/P value. You are being greeted by smile faces throughout and that alone just made our days here.

Room Tip: if you are looking for a secluded resort with unsurpassed service, you cannot go wrong with Layana.

My friend and I had a girls' weekend break. We were picked up swiftly at the airport in a very comfortable minivan and was offered ice mineral water and coke during our 2 hour ride to the hotel. Hotel is gorgeous...the view at the pool is to die for, the beach is clean. And service is impeccable. The staff were always smiling and ever willing to go beyond their duty, for e.g. when it was raining, the brought a collection of DVDs and the catalouge to our room for us to make our choice as we didn't want to head to the library/reception in the rain; they set up tables outdoor for us when we requested to have our meals outside the restaurant to enjoy the sea breeze. The hotel managers would make their rounds and speak to customers to ensure their stay is perfect. The spa was relaxing and very enjoyable at THB500 for an hour massage. At the poolside, they provided ice water and walked around to refill it...and provided fruits kebabs as snacks. Definitely a great place to relax and chill...and let all your worries melt away. We will be back again!

We have just returned from 2 weeks in Thailand including 7 days in this fabulous place. We booked after reading the reviews in Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed, the location, the room, the restaurant, the spa and most of all the staff are just amazing. As soon as we were picked up at Krabi airport we knew we were in for a treat with the luxury Layana transport. We were welcomed on arrival by the Assistant Manager Kanin who proved to be attentive and helpful throughout our stay. We knew that in August we would have some rain, Layana are prepared for this with large umbrellas and extensive free DVD library, it did rain most days but this didn’t spoil our holiday at all. We had planned to have dinner at other places on the island but the food was so good in the resort Tides restaurant that we always had dinner there. We had read about the excellent and extensive breakfasts but English style bacon and Cumberland sausage were unexpected!
Of course many hotels have great locations and facilities. What makes Layana really special are the staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
It was our 30th wedding anniversary whilst at Layana and the staff ensured we had a fantastic day with special decorations in our room, special meal at night and an unexpected celebration cake. If you have an important event coming up or just want a special treat then look no further, go to Layana!

My partner and I stayed at Layana for 5 days and both agreed that we have never stayed in a place quite like this before with it being so incredibly luxurious (there is a pillow menu!) yet so relaxed at the same time. We loved the fact that it was child-free as I am working with kids every day. I don't even know where to start, but here are some of the reasons why this is an extraordinary place that everybody should give a go at some point in their lives: amazing value for money (5* luxury without the matching price tag), incredibly friendly and helpful staff, convenience (free bicycle rental, free book and DVD library, scuba instructor arranged on site, cheap scooter rental available), incredible infinity pool, gourmet yet very affordable hotel restaurant, breakfast to die for, rooms being cleaned twice/ day, free pick up from the pier, comfortable aircon in the room (not directed at the bed, not too noisy) and so much more. There is also a small gym with some basic equipment, free to use.

As we wanted a more rustic experience that was a little less formal during dinner and drinks in the evening, we only stayed at the hotel once during our stay to eat, the other days we ate and drank at the 2 little resorts to the left along the beach, very cute and cheap, and we also ate once in a different part of the island during our scooter day trip.
Also, we did not use their laundry service as the pay-per-item-of-clothing system struck us as expensive. There is a very cheap but good laundry place close to the hotel (take a bicycle, come ouf the hotel, turn left and it is on your right after about 50m).
Also, the massage seemed quite expensive, so we would recommend one of the numerous massage places on the main road instead.

Our top tip for a day trip on the scooter: have a drink at the Viewpoint Restaurant, incredible views! Visit the Khlong Jaak waterfall near the Tiger Caves in the very south of the island. Park your scooter next to the bar and elephants, walk 40 mins through the jungle and through a river and then take a shower in the waterfall before walking back - a great experience! Also, Lanta old town is cute.

we stayed at this resort for 3 nights and it was absolutely wonderful! the rooms are lovely, with everything you could need, the staff are so polite and friendly, doing everything they can for you, without being intrusive. they helped us with so much, picking us up from the pier on arrival, organising our trip and bike rental and also arranging our onwards transportation. nothing was too much trouble. the managers are wonderful, making an effort to know the guests names and take time to talk to everyone individually. and the food!! wow! breakfast was excellent, so much choice and the dinner in the evening was gorgeous- quality food presented brilliantly at such a reasonable price. and not to mention the view!
we were so happy with our visit and will most definately stay again if we visit Ko Lanta!

We recently stayed at Layana for our honeymoon.

We had an exceptional service from the moment we arrived and the hotel was absolutely beautiful. The staff always smiled and could not do enough to make sure that that your every desire was fulfilled. We both felt completely spoilt from the moment we arrived to the moment we left.

Being low season, the hotel was fairly quiet which suited us perfectly. The setting is stunning and the hotel and grounds were spotless.

The restaurant food was excellent and the chef even cooked especially for us on on one night to ensure that the Thai food was exactly to our liking.

Everything in the hotel was very reasonably priced and the hotel continuously exceeded our expectations in regard to value for money.

Layana is the most relaxing hotel that either my husband or I have ever stayed in and we intend to return time and time again.

The secret of Layana's success is that they know it's the thought that counts...

Thank you, Layana... You really deserve the title of 'best hotel in Thailand'!

We booked Layana largely due to the reviews here and arrived here for a 5 day stay with my 2 teenage sons.

The hotel website makes it clear they only accept "adults". We assumed this meant teenage and above. During booking, at no time did the hotel explain otherwise.

Strike 1: Upon arrival, the hotel manager told us 'adults' meant 18 and above and as one of my sons is 15 (the other 18), despite them not informing us, we could not stay there! They claimed they had sent us emails on this, which was not the case, upon us checking.

Strike 2: The hotel manager attitude was very polite but amazingly inflexible and unhelpful. He made it clear it was their fault and apologised several times but also, repeatedly, told us it was his decision we could not stay there. He offered no alternatives other than to allow us to use a room while he discussed it with our agent. He accepted no responsibility for resolving a situation caused, ultimately, by him and expected our agent to sort out the refund AND to find us somewhere else to stay. Their priority was clearly to minimise their exposure to the problem and NOT to helping us out.

Strike 3: It took Layana 2 1/2 hours to finally wait for our agent to sort the situation out, agree the refund mechanism and book another resort. They did not keep us informed of what was going on & we had to chase them twice for information. We felt completely at their mercy and it was not pleasant.

They DID finally arrange transport to the new resort.

Unbelievably poor attitude and shockingly bad service, ultimately all down to the hotel manager.

What we could tell was the facilities and rooms looked great and the staff attitude was good.

Room Tip: Make sure you confirm EVERYTHING before you book and pay.
