We stayed for 5 nights January 2013 and didn't want to leave!!!! We stayed in a garden view bungalow which was nice and private and very quiet. As to a previous review... (Smell in bathroom) we found out the smell that smells like the drains was I fact a air freshener hid under the sink which when removed the smell totally disappeared, we informed the resorts management and the following day the air fresheners was removed from all rooms!! ( they had paid for drain to be checked etc etc and didn't know what the smell was!!! Result!!) the rooms are cleaned every day and the room has a kettle which was a bonus. the beach is a 5 min walk away which is nice to be near a pool after 5 previous resorts on beaches. The pool is quiet and clean with a jacuzzi within. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is nice but basic. The restaurant does lovely food try the tempura veg and prawns wow!!! The chalets are very reasonable for what you get. We didn't want to leave and will return. Thanks to the great staff for a great stay. X

Long Beach Chalet is the place to stay if you're in Koh Lanta. Not only is it very reasonably priced, the bungalow is spacious, comfortable and clean with good AC and strong wifi. There is a balcony in each bungalow and there is also some resting space at the bottom of each one with a hammock. The owners speak fluent english and go out of their way to help you. They organised transfers for us, we orginally booked a bungalow for three people in advanced but a few weeks before we flew out to Koh Lanta, we had an extra visitor and they went out of their way to organise extra beds in the bungalow as by then the place was fully booked. They made everything very easy for us, booked our day trips and organised hired vehicles for us. Breakfast was very good, a generous selection was available at their restaurant, The Three Mums, with friendly service. One of the mums came to speak to us in the mornings when we were having breakfast and made us some coconut pancakes on the side, they were nice!

There is a small but clean pool in the centre of the bungalows with sun chairs. And a few miniutes walk and you see a nice stretch of beach with white fine sands, beach bars and massages! Going into the main strip of koh lanta where all the main shops were was also very easy. Public taxis are very affordable and are available and is a short 5-10 minute ride away.

We were very happy with our stay and would highly recommend this place to people. I loved Koh Lanta a lot, I will definitely come back to the Long Beach Chalet the next time I visit Koh Lanta. Many thanks to Tam, his sister and the mums for a great stay.

The owners are nice, and the service was great. The attached restaraunt served good food, drinks, etc, and they bring it to your room if you want.

The bungalows were great, comfy, clean, with cool AC, etc.

Close walk to the beautiful beach. We rented a scooter through the Long Beach Chalet, and it worked great, and cheap.

The bathroom stunk a bit, but it's separated from the living space. The pool is nice, but the ocean is better. I would return for sure. Great location (away from the main tourist/transport area of the island).

Rent a motorbike and cruise the island. Go to the national park on the southern tip. It's beautiful.

Room Tip: They are all nice, but get one by the pool if you can.

Long Beach Chalet

This place is a good solid inexpensive option on Koh Lanta. It is within walking distance of the beach, there is decent free wifi, the beds aren't terribly uncomfortable, the AC works, the restaurant isn't the best, but makes a good mojito.

The bungalows are freestanding so you get a fair amount of privacy and they are raised on stilts off the ground. Under each is a hammock and a couch area for sitting and relaxing. It's a younger backpack/flashpacker crowd, but we didn't feel out of place there with our two kids.

Although it wasn't my favorite of the 3 places I stayed while on Koh Lanta I think it is the best in it's price range as far as comfort, location and features.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a freestanding bungalow that you aren't sharing with another room for maximum...

My husband and I stayed in one of the Superior Garden rooms which was huge! We had plenty of space and were impressed that they offered bean bag chairs and beach towels. Also, our unit (A4) was at the end so we didn't get noise from the rooms beside us. All the bungalows had their own balcony and open air bathroom. Our bathroom was attached to our room but it looked like the smaller bungalows that you had to exit your room to enter the bathroom. Overall we really liked the room even if the floor boards were a little creaky. We looked out over the pool which was a pleasant view. Underneath each bungalow was a sitting area and hammock. It was clean and comfortable.

One morning we had lost power to our room and the hot water heater stopped but they fixed it right away. The next morning the power went out for 20 minutes at about 7am and apparently that happens often across the island and it came back on no problem. I noticed that on our last two days that there was a septic smell when you were in the bathroom. Not sure what that was about. We also had an orange tree frog that liked to hangout in our toilet paper roll which gave me a good scare the first time!

You can walk to the beach in about 2 minutes which is directly behind the resort. Along the beach are a bunch of restaurants and other beachside resorts. You can get a massage anywhere along the beach for 300-400baht.

Breakfast at the 3 Mums restaurant left much to be desired but it was still decent enough. We also had BBQ one night and their fish special another night which was good. The cocktails were excellent.

Everyone who worked there was very nice and helpful. We we arrived at the airport in Krabi we couldn't find the driver who was supposed to pick us up, even after calling the resort. We ended up hiring a taxi from the airport which was the same cost as what Long Beach was offering us so that was not a problem. The resort arranged a private van to take us to the airport for 2500baht (2 hours). You can also rent a scooter for 300baht/day.

Despite being there during the "high season" it was surprisingly quiet and not too many people around.

Room Tip: Ask for a unit looking over the pool.

After spending 4 weeks travelling through SE Asia on a guided tour I booked 5 nights here with a friend looking for some relaxation, we certainly found it here. On arrival our room wasn't quite ready but we had some lunch and then told chalet was ready and our bags were already in the room, impressed! We had one of the 'normal' chalets (there are executive ones too), it was a lovely surprise on opening it up, very clean, amazing bed and good amenities. The bathroom is located outside which takes some getting used to, but nice and clean! The breakfast choice is great and the restaurant friendly staff. The pool really nice and clean. It's a short walk to long beach which is just beautiful! You come out at Lym's rice bowl, owned by the same family as the chalets, the food is great and owners very friendly (English excellent as they live some if the year in Birmingham!). The chalets are managed by son and daughter and this is the mum's restaurant! You can use the sun loungers here too. The office was very helpful booking us trips, we did 4 island snorkel tour which was fab. We also hired a moped from the hotel which was cheap and is a great way to see the island, only trouble was it had a flat tyre! We had it fixed and the manager had no hesitation in taking off the cost from the hire of the bike so not too much of a problem! Also after travelling I was looking for a computer to download my photos, there is a laptop in the coffee shop which is free, was great to sit there in interrupted and sort things!

If you're travelling on your own just a warning Ko Lanta is a quiet island, and lots of couples! However of all the islands I've visited in past few weeks (Krabi, Ko Phi Phi and Phuket) I would return to Ko Lanta and Long Beach Chalets in a heart beat, enjoy!

This place is so relaxing and in a beautiful garden setting. We stayed here for 6 nights and loved every minute of it. The beach is very close a 5 min walk at most and the pool area is great. Nice beach and lots of options to go to other beachs in the area, asked for staff advice and we went to a great little bay and restaurant about 30min drive away.

The ' Three Moms' restaurant serves up great food and there is also another restaurant on the beach also owed by the same people that is also nice.Breakfast is nice and many choices.
We booked a tour through the resort with Opal Tours to go snorkelling at Koh Rok island I would recommend doing this as it was a great day out.

The bungalows are very cozy and have a nice balcony and bean bags to sit on outside, very nice well kept lush garden setting.
Staff will help with any questions you have, cannot fault this place we will be back!
