“Stylish presented food in pleasant surroundings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

A stylish, modern restaurant at the far end of Klong Dao beach, with the main seating area upstairs overlooking the cookery school.

The menu is set and the main course/dessert change daily (see website). Three starters, only one main course (choose chicken, fish or veg) and one dessert.

Shrimps wrapped in pepper leaves as a starter were absolutely divine, but there was also spring rolls or tempura prawns as alternatives. The main course of caramelized king mackerel (boyfriend had chicken option) on a bed of mango salsa was also delicious and beautifully presented, but both the fish and chicken were overcooked. A rich chocolate mousse was a perfect end to the meal.

Service was initially very attentive (maybe even a bit intrusive, as the young English waiter wanted to engage in a conversation) but then disappeared totally, so we were left with empty main course plates for well over half an hour. I think they had forgotten that we were upstairs! Not a big problem though, as it was a lovely place to relax and drink wine.

Overall, well worth the visit, and the nicest dining experience we had on Ko Lanta

“Worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

Very professorial attraction, owned by western people, so a bit of commercialization feel. No discussion on quality, yet bit more expensive than others. My wife liked all 6 hours spent there, I like the food she prepared (which was way much better than on average koh lanta restaurant, maybe one of the best I tried in Koh Lanta at all).

“Great discovery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

Right at the end of Klong Dao Beach after a lengthy walk from your hotel you'll discover this cool place with lime-colored lights dangling in a huge tree, bathing the beachfront property in an eerie, mysterious green-yellow glow. The food choice is from a weekday set menu, so Monday they cook a, Tuesday you get b - take it or leave it. I don't remember what we had, but it was really good. The staff, at least two or three, were Europeans/Americans, who could speak and FULLY understand English - what joy!

Dear "Hobnab72" We are so happy that you liked our concept "take it or leave it" ;o)....
The food is fresh. By the way, there is only 1 staff that is not Thai, the owner.
The other two young English speaking people are volunteers at Lanta animal Welfare, that are so kind to help us out, since our profits goes to Lanta Animal Welfare.
Welcome back, and thank you for taking your time for your nice review.

Kind reagards,
Junie

“Sublime scenery and delicious food”

Having eaten and done a cookery course here we were totally hooked. Beautiful views, fabulous cocktails and delicious food in a class of its own. Not to forget that all proceeds go to the Lanta Animal Welfare sanctuary.
