My boyfriend and I went to Lalaanta for a vacation after I just finished teacher's college in Australia. We were picked up half way to the resort by a few of the employees of the resort. Very nice guys. The staff was amazing there. What ever we need they tried to accommidate us. It was our 6 year aniversery and the owners made us a home made cake which was amazing! It was peaceful and beautiful. The owners booked excursions for us so we didn't have to worry about a thing. The food was amazing! My family own a restaurant so my expectations are high and the food there met all of them! We loved this place so much that my boyfriend and I are planning to get married there in a few years. Some of the staff took my boyfriend fishing one day which he loved. We went to visit 4 different countries this trip. Australia, Thailand, Philipenes, and Vietnam. Out of 11 resorts we stayed at Lalaanta was the best! It was truely a home away from home.

It was the good reviewers of Trip Advisor who convinced me to contact Patrick and Tony at LaLaanta to see if they had a bungalow free at the beginning of July - I arrived on my birthday with my girlfriend who'd already been travelling in Asia for a couple of months. I was fresh from London, then Bangkok to Koh Lanta on a very long bus journey and a ferry or two - I just hoped it was as good as everyone said.

From the moment we arrived until the day of our reluctant departure we had the most amazing time - the resort is idyllic and artistically designed - bohemian luxury at it's best but very affordable. With fantastic food from the sea-view restaurant, a lovely pool and a stunning beach beyond it was as beautiful a place as I've ever stayed.

What really makes LaLaanta so special though was the warmth of our hosts, Tony and June (thank you for my birthday cake!), who made us feel more like we were visiting friends. Helpful, friendly and great fun they could not have made us feel any more welcome. Shame we didn't get to meet you Patrick this time but we will because we will definitely be back as soon as we can!

The BEST PLACE to stay if you visit Ko Lanta - if you visit Thailand!!!

- Nice atmosphere thanks to Patrick and Tony and all the nice people who work there (Great service).
- Great bungalows, nice and clean, decorated and designed with much love for the detail - UNIQUE!
- Amazing bay, not at all crowded, with white sand, blue water and sometimes dolphins
- It`s a paradise where you won´t miss anything

We felt so lucky to have been told about this place by chance on a boat from Ko Ngai to Ko Lanta. We had done a lot of research on Thailand and Ko Lanta seemed a good place to go although we had struggled to find the ideal place to stay so had only booked somewhere for the first couple of nights in the hope of finding paradise once there.

Thank goodness for the recommendation it was EVERYTHING we were looking for. All I had hoped for and much more than I expected.

Modern, clean bathroom.
On the beach with great views out to sea.
A beach that's big, clean and unspoiled - peaceful!
Beach hammocks to read your book in.
Great pool.
Good food.
Personal service.
Boutique accommodation without breaking the bank.
Somewhere away from it all but close enough if we fancied a night out.

La Laanta gave us all of this and so much more by way of the friendly staff and fantastic owners Patrick and Tony.

It is at the very end of the island but this is what makes it so wonderful. If you do want to explore the sea is right there and boats stop on your doorstep to pick you up. If you want to explore other parts of the island they will always happily organize transport and if you fancy eating somewhere else (just for a change as I sometimes do) there are a couple of places at the other end of the beach which are a lovely moonlit walk away.

We absolutely recommend La Laanta and feel so grateful for the experience and word of mouth recommendation.
