The concept was quite appealing to us...the idea of putting up in a Haveli amidst the ruins of the largest fort of India...bowled us over and we decided to spend a day and a half in the majestic Chittorgarh in Aug'12. The weather of the day we landed up in Chittorgarh spoiled the grand entry through seven gates ...we were in a hurry to somehow reach the haveli. The old haveli which is recently renovated by the enterprising duo Sudhir & Parvati Sukhwal gives an authentic feel of Rajasthan's art & culture. The home like atmosphere and warmth of the Sukhwal family made our stay quite a comfortable one. The guided tour to the fort by Jayesh was also nice...full of anecdotes & stories behind the massive fort...keep up the good work...!!
For enthusiastic Indian tourists, let me tell you this place is not at all value for money...coz the amneties they offer isn't worth 3200 for a day(B&B). The food was a real let down for us....they take utmost care to provide Italian Coffee & English Breakfast..but in the name of authentic Rajasthani food u get regular dal-chawal-sabzi (400 bucks per person..dont we get buffets worth the same). My expectations regarding food went for a toss...may be because we live in Delhi where we get mouth watering unlimited Thalis from Rajasthan of same worth...and yes even I had problem with no door between bedroom & bathroom. People who would not mind to shell out extra cash to enjoy "Authentic Haveli Experience"...this place is the best one.
This gutsy duo definitely showed us how enterprising we Indians are...All the best !!
