“Beautifully Restored Heritage Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2014

Dev Nivas is a Heritage Hotel which has been beautifully restored. The main entrance is gorgeous...a large courtyard with a fountain and many plants. The other entertaining areas are tastefully decorated and one feels one is almost back in years gone by.
The rooms are spotlessly clean and large, have a/c, hot running water and a fridge.
There is a rooftop restaurant which has stunning views overlooking the flat rooftops of this blue painted town towards the hill where the old Palace stands. This is amazing at night as it is lit up. The food and beverages are reasonably priced and the quality of food and service was great.
The Manager, Raj Singh, was only too please to help in any way possible and kindly arranged a day trip which was most interesting.
The Hotel is centrally located in this exquisite town and it is a great place to just wonder around and to even do a bit of local shopping. People are very friendly and there are now hawkers and prices are not inflated.
I have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel and hope to stay here again on my next trip to India.

We stayed in lots of hotels during our latest India tour. This hotel rates as one of the nicest.
This really is a wonderful place to stay if you're looking for a little extra luxury, without a large bill.

This is a lovely boutique hotel, the rooms are kept very clean and are tastefully decorated. Great aircon (silent).

The service from the staff and owner was 1st class, from the minute we walked through the door.

The roof top restaurant served consistantly good food and the view from there was great.

This hotel made us feel like royalty! We stayed 3 nights in two rooms for a family of four. The rooms are gigantic - two entry rooms and a large bedroom - nice size bathrooms. Super clean - especially for India! We were so surprised at the cleanliness! The roof top restaurant was really pleasant for dinners but you need to tell them to make the food super spicy as they seemed reluctant to make things spicy for tourists. It was fun for us to watch the monkeys and the view of the castle from the restaurant. Staff was all very attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend. This is a hotel experience in terms of cleanliness, beds, bathroom at an amazing price. Very good choice if in area.

Comfy room, amazing view of the fort from the roof top restaurant, good breakfast, excellent location and really helpful staff! Our stay there was perfect and Bundi is absolutely a must see in Rajasthan hassle free city! Special thanks to the waiter, it was really nice meeting you!

I was staying at the Dev Niwas over the festival of Holi; couldn't have picked a better place ! All the staff were out to enjoy it but by evening time they were back in new clothes and giving as good a service as ever
I had a downstairs room at a very good price (probably as good value as I found in India) and a very serviceable shower bathroom
Rajdev Singh (le patron) was kindness and efficencey itself (transport to the bus station and every assistance in getting me on the right bus with the right ticket;amazement!)
Catch this one whilst you can; it's a hotel on the up

Room Tip: Probably try one of the balcony rooms

We stayed in this lovely havail hotel for two nights, our room was on the ground floor just off the pretty courtyard with its small fountain that was lit up at night. The place was spotlessly clean and maintained to a high standard. The rooftop restaurant had a beautiful view of the palace that looked like a picture postcard lit up at night and served tasty food. Would recommend this place.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2014 via mobile

I booked online for what seemed like a cheap price given the ratings, amenities, photos, etc., so I was prepared for a slight let down when I arrived. Quite the opposite, this place exceeded my expectations.

From the moment I walked into the pretty courtyard entrance, my stay was silky smooth. Reception was brisk but efficient, and the rest of the staff was genuinely friendly and laid back, some of the nicest people I've encountered in months of accommodations in India. The place has a nice heritage haveli flavor to it, with stone floors, arched doorways and some cozy nooks. The terrace restaurant was comfortable, quiet and had great views of the palace and fort as well as tasty food and great service. I was surprised how few people were there, given the quality of the place, perhaps just the end of the season.

The room was on the small side, but perfectly cozy, and well laid out. There was even a candle in the cove next to the bed, a first on this trip! Shower head was good, and hot/cold water pressure was consistently good. The towels were some of the nicest in a while, clean and soft. Good mozzie screens in the windows. Little bit of street noise, very minor, and probably none on the other side of the hotel.

Location was good, on the way to the palace, though no lake views.
WiFi didn't reach my room, but I didn't mind hanging out in the restaurant, very nice place to hang out. It did cut out from time to time, but this seems to be a fact of life in most places in India.

I took the hotel's private tuk-tuk to the train station on the way out, and it was probably the nicest tuk-tuk I've ever seen (steering wheel?! stick shift?! stereo?!) and reasonably priced.

Overall, totally recommend.
