“The Eternal Seat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

There is no need to get religious if one doesn't want to - but the teachings that make a large community of human beings around the world dedicate themselves to service of mankind is worth paying a solemn respect.
Get there early morning (3-4 ish) to view the palanquin bearing the Sri Guru Granth Sahib ...

“Great building but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

The Akal Takht is a symbol of sacrifice historically , unfortunately the last one in 1984 was when the rebels were clashing with Indian Army. The plaque almost despised the Indian army and praised the 'valiant' soldiers - was a sore point for me!

Been there few times. Really liked the place, ambiance, aura. Situated in the compound of Harmandir sahib this place is simply stunning. Rebuilt in the late 80's after operation blue star this place is much more bigger than it used to be
