“Large Temple Complex - An Oasis of Peace”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

Unless one enters the temple complex, it is difficult to believe that such a complex exists in the crowded city of Amritsar. Of course, there is a strong resemblance to the most famous shrine of Amritsar, but this temple complex has its own charm. Apart from the central shrine in the middle of a lake with gold plated surface, there are numerous temples spread across the complex all along the lake. The water in the lake is clean and has many fishes. Colourful fountains in the lake help keep the water fresh and also add to the beauty of the place. Plans are afoort to make the complex even larger with expansion planned by the trust that manages the shrine.

“Durgiana Temple”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

Even though the temple is named after Goddess Durga, there are several other Gods and Goddesses at the temple. The design is modeled on The Golden Temple and is located in the middle of a pond with a passage leading to the main temple. There is another famous temple complex dedicated to God Hanuman adjacent to this. Cleanliness of the complex however is not upto the mark
