“Must for every visitor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

The langar at Golden Temple must be visited. The food is free and served hot. It is like "Prasad" of the temple and you have a different feeling once you be at this place.

“Free Community kitchen of the Guru”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2012

There is a nice tradition among the sikhs, that is followed by all their temples (Gurudwaras- Guru means teacher, here God; dwara means door: so door to God's home or temple). All devotees sit together on ground and take similar food in similar utensils. It is symbolic of equality of all humans. It is believed that Guru's grace is distributed among all devotees by way of food (prasadm) One good thing is that despite large quanitity, the food quality is excellent.

“Miracle”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2012

It's nothing short of a miracle that thousands of people are fed on a daily basis free of cost. Its hygienic food made and served with love. Were there at night and got Sabzi, roti, dal, rice and kheer. Food is not really tasty but basic and edible. Worth a visit to see how they pull this off. Also check out the roti making facility on the ground floor.

“Soul of Punjab”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2012

This epitomises the soul of Punjab.

It is a lesson in service to humanity.

So tasty food, served in such clean place and utensils – where thousands are continuously trooping in.

The volunteers there are truly serving God.

My appeal to the visitors: Everything here is free. But why not leave a donation, whatever possible.
