very very ....unclean cottage with dampness all over the walls and floor, untidy mattresses and especially the hot water issue just available for 2 - 3 hrs a day, which is some stupid idea to provide by the cottage owner in a cold place like that and this is the main reason i had to post this review as i faced on my family trip with 3 kids and 2 aged people and the owner of the cottage named Mr. santhosh wudnt even switch on the heating on request. so, my humble request would be to get to munnar in person and look at the rooms/cottages/home stay and the book it, especially the so called hoome stays like sisiram cottage are traps if u book them in advance and make the payment, and it turns out to be a disaster when you get there.

Room Tip: I wud suggest any one wishing to travel to munnar to not book the cottages online, as they put up fa...

Had been with family and in laws to this homestay during June 2011, off season time. The pricing was expensive but we choose this place over other homestays after reading various online reviews and being short of time.

In reality the photos are outdated and don't give the real picture. The lake beside the homestay is actually a small stream or water outlet or something like that which has dirty water ( Nobody does boating much at Munnar these days and as such the waste water mostly gets discharged into these streams ). Claims of angling/fishing are a joke and misleading. We were there during the monsoon season even then its just a very small stream.

We were provided 4 rooms on the ground floor of the cottage. Of these 1 of the rooms was actually makeshift/modified, i.e. a storeroom converted to a bedroom and does not have an attached bath/toilet. The two bedrooms closer to the entrance are better. The other two (including the one mentioned as makeshift/modified) are quite dingy and had wet walls. To add to that rooms at the back are not very sound proof, just behind the cottage is the car park and backside of another homestay/hotel and throughout the night there were loud voices, guys were fooling around in a drunken stupour. This happened for both days we stayed there.

There is absolutely no other service at the homestay, the host appears only to collect the payments. We had asked for tea/coffee in the morning and this was grudgingly delivered and as for the quality, we regretted even asking for it.

If you are looking for scenery, don't go by the uploaded photos. the banks of the lake/stream are full of leeches especially in wet weather and stay off it if on barefoot.

The only advantage of this homestay maybe the location, which is that it is in MSA road and in Munnar town proper, though not adjoining to the town center (which is fairly walkable about 2 kms) and close to the Munnar DTPC (if you are looking for tourist info or booking a local day tour), bus stop and yatri nivas hotel (if you are looking for some decent indian vegeterian food)

Claims of 24 hours hot water supply are absolutely false. There are timings in the morning, 7:30AM -9:30AM if I recall correctly for the hot water. But even after 8:30AM and repeated requests we never used to get the hot water supply in any of the rooms and this delayed our site seeing and onward journey throughout the trip

We booked this homestay in a hurry, we were informed of one rate when first talking to the host and then he asked for an higher rate

Other than being on MSA road, this place has nothing much to offer for the pricing. Avoid if looking for economy or scenic hangout and do your own research of other alternatives

we stayed for 3 days there last year in may. The place was quite clean and the location was superb. The river runs just a few yards away. The garden is neat and cheerful.
It is a little away from the bustle of the main town area.
The hosts were quite helpful without being too interfering.

Recently went to the above homestay.
Pleasant couple but very little for your money.
Stayed three nights 1000R per day.
Towels and sheets not changed, although this is normal for some homestays.
Hot water only between 7.30-900am and 19.30-21-00.
Times not really conducive to eating.
Shower operated by hand a spray which you direct yourself.
Overall poor value.
Would not recommend.
