No Lift.
No phone (out of order). For room service we had to call from personal phone to reception landline phone !!!
Main city 1 and half Km away
Dinner order has to be placed by 6Pm or else no dinner. No nearby place for dinner.
Hot water only from 6-9 Am and 6-9 PM. So in case you checkin at old hours only chilled water will be available for bath.
There is no restaurant. They get food from outside which is ordered well in advance.

I found this hotel to be reasonably Good to stay at Munnar in Budget rates. Few kilometers away from main town but quite and cool place to stay. Rooms are clean and well equipped. You can have super valley view from this resort.

We popped into this 'retreat' for a last minute overnight stay. Upon being told they only had deluxe rooms available, we negotiated the price and agreed. After asking for the tv to be fixed, we were told sorry only two channels. No air con or heater, nor did the shower deliver more than a trickle of cold water. And no room device after 6pm. Hopefully it was merely a once off but we did not feel welcome at all (perhaps due to being western? I would hope not) and the rooms were sadly worse than any guest house we've stayed in over the past few moths yet four times the price. Good location and not a bad view though.

A good budget hotel in Munnar located in a good place near to rose garden. Visited March 2013 with my family as we are a new couple. Our room in 1st floor Hotel back side. A spacious room with required amenities like LCD TV with satellite, Geyser, A King size bed and a beautiful tea garden facing Balcony. Hotel having no restaurant but by advance order before 2 hours you will get delicious food, with a reasonable rate. Having Car Parking, really helpful as we are travelling from Kochi by our own vehicle.
We are really happy by the service provided by hotel and surely recommended friends and family whose are travelling Munnar.
Wish them all the best in coming future and if visited Munnar again surely I will be in same hotel.

Room Tip: Hotel back side on 1st Floor.

In Munnar most of the hotels who charges exorbitant charges, Marthoma Retreat charges reasonably well. Its a small hotel with 20 to 26 rooms but all rooms are good. It has small garden area to play for children. Food was not good. Backside rooms have a good view. All rooms have balcony.

Room Tip: Backside rooms have a view, whereas front rooms have road view.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is average. The rooms are so-so dirty. The view from the room is good.Their service is not so prompt. Bathroom is basic. They have a Restaurant but they often refuse to serve food because of rush.It does not have any basic things which we expect from a hotel. We have to go outside for our all meals.
